As far as I know, most #sociology journals don’t have a fediverse presence, but do have RSS article feeds. Would accounts that mirror those feeds be something folks would follow or is RSS/email already filling the need?
Also, I understand there is a #LawFedi account that follows a very large set of folks in the #law community and re-posts popular/trending material. (If you know what it is - I’d appreciate a pointer). Looking at that account might be a good way to catch up. Would that be interesting for social science?
Today is the 20th anniversary of my attending my very first science fiction convention: Torcon 3 in Toronto. Some memories of that convention, and thoughts on how the world of conventions has changed since then, are up on Whatever today:
@CherylMorgan@scalzi My first convention was a Yorkon in Leeds in '83 or '84. Other folks I bumped into there: Roz Kaveney, @neilhimself , and PTerry—all of us young and incredibly obscure!
I'm building a small list of resources for neurodivergent students for my big 1st year undergrad course. What would you recommend that a first year undergrad, who lives with OCD, ASD, ADHD and/or anything else, should read, watch or join.
So I got a warning that nginx proxy manager hadn't been renewing my certificates for a while tonight.
Tried to renew them manually.
It broke, everywhere, badly. Ended up reinstalling from scratch, even on a different machine, but it Would Not Work. Kept throwing internal NPM errors.
Is it currently broken? I've resorted to a manual nginx config for now. but it's not ideal. Anyone else seeing flakiness from nginx proxy manager?
Heh, mine’s not so different, multiple subnets - plus Wireguard :)
I don’t exactly know why but in the end it was definitely a inter-vlan connectivity problem I kept hitting. The pain was trying to prove it out as the official Nginx Proxy Manager container for unraid didn’t include anything like ping / traceroute etc.
I had an issue like this, I actually shelled into the docker container and found that the process to upgrade was running but had stalled. So I killed it and then made a new request and it worked.
was trying to install qubes os on another usb drive. failed for the "no multiboot" thing. i am starting to suspect that this is a total waste of time...
When I try to do it on Linux, every time I type < it gets replaced with >. So I can't do symbols or colors etc. I tested on my desktop Xubuntu (fails), steam deck (works fine using virtual keyboard), and windows 10 pc (works fine).
I am using a standard generic 105 key keyboard, the < key works elsewhere.
Need assistance with Rocket chat. I have my rocket chat running in my internal network using cloudflare tunnels. I have a VPS configured as coturn. When I set my coturn info in Rocket chat, I still don't see an audio or video call option. Using call just starts a Jitsi call instead of using my coturn server for audio/video call in direct messages. Can someone assist and let me know what I am doing wrong? Thank you. @selfhosted@selfhosted@OpenSource@opensource
