On TERF Island, clothing not corresponding to one’s biological sex is legally considered “fetish gear”

TheGrandNagus , (edited )

People say TERF island as if when you leave Britain everywhere is ok with trans people. Unfortunately, other places tend to be even worse.

It’s a stupid buzzword.

E: ok people. Prove me wrong.

Paywall

StarlightDust , in Far-right disorder in England is at ‘turning point’ after arrests, say police

Cops and politicians are claiming credit for the quick response from local communities, and also the far right having generally really poor organizing practice, calling demonstrations in random locations they have never even seen before and not being present themselves to pull people together.

echodot , in Britain ignored its far-right threat and demonized Muslims. Now racist mobs have spiraled out of control.

Did the author come from another reality or what? This is why we need media reform so publications like this can’t stir the pot under the guise of “reporting”.

The reality isn’t even close to that. No one has ignored the far right, It’s just they’ve simply been in charge for the last 14 years, so all the attempts to mitigate their damage have been somewhat lackluster. You might as well say that the Nazis ignored the far right, it doesn’t make sense.

Add official gov.uk statement on this.

The MOD is committed to undertaking all necessary planning and environmental processes required to gain planning consent for the proposed site and for its safe operation. A comprehensive Environmental Impact Assessment (including a Landscape and Visual Impact Assessment) is underway in support of our planning application to Pembrokeshire County Council and their granting of planning permission is conditional on DARC meeting all the required safety standards.

The police response is does seem to be working, getting the key agitators off the streets and dissuading the hangers on.

But I think the public reaction has also been important. The public at large have rejected the mob, showing them this is not the popular “uprising” they might have thought it was.

I wonder how this period will shift political undercurrents in the longer term though, for better or worse.

AFC1886VCC ,

To look at social media, you’d think this far-right immigrant hysteria was by far the prevailing sentiment across the country. But when it comes to actually turning out in the streets, they are pretty much always vastly outnumbered.

Just goes to show how many bots there are and how much dangerous influence that agitators/nerfarious foreign actors have. There is some serious astroturfing going on.
