I don’t think I’ve ever seen a game on Steam with “Overwhelmingly Negative” reviews before. Usually “Mixed” is already a good indicator to leave your hands off a game.
That’s because there’s a review count requirement for both the extremely good and the extremely negative level. So you can’t buy your own game, review it, and have it be overwhelmingly positive because the only review is positive. Thing is, bad games tend to not get bought by many people, so overwhelmingly negative is rare. So yes, mixed reviews are already damming.
You know your not being snarky big dev defender saying this right? You are aware the actual devs, the creators of the game have asked people to review bomb it. This is the major order right now. It’s to give the devs leverage to get Sony to back the fuck off.
Spitz is also the pos who told people to just refund and leave. Now they wre doing damage control acting like they are on the players side. The devs are not the good guys here just smart enough to act like they are
I really couldn’t care. It’s as easy as using making an account. People really have nothing else better to do with their lives. In fact, most people do, that’s why steam charts haven’t reflected any change.
You realize about 1/3 of all players physically cannot make a PSN account, right? This isn’t just ‘gamers having nothing better to do with their lives’, it’s an actual legal and economic issue.
I think Discord calls it Discord Rich Presence. It’s such a good feature, and I always get excited when I see it implemented. Sometimes when I look it up I’m lucky enough to find mods that add it for some of my games, too.
The GOG Community Wishlist is a decent place to get ideas for this. Some of it’s just people wanting DRM-free versions of their favorite games but a lot of it’s abandonware. There’s also MyAbandonware.com.
Lots of lists of console exclusive games don’t seem up to date. This one by GamesRadar for example lists Returnal which is on Steam.
I would say the original Sims and the Sims 2. The complete collection versions of both. I would hope they would be bundled with fixes to work on modern operating systems.
I just looked it up, and the first thing that came up was a ton of articles about a series of tweets Larian put out today explaining that they’re working on official mod support, but that they’d like to ask people to stop being toxic assholes and threatening their devs.
So I guess they don’t have official mod support, but the mods that are and have been out for months are amazing. I highly recommend Native Camera Tweaks, WASD Movement, 5e Spells, and Hexblade Warlock (gish class that makes your spellcasting modifier and melee stat both Charisma so you’re SAD instead of MAD on both Str/Dex and Int/Cha). There’s also a bunch of other QoL mods that are worth getting too.
Minecraft is not on steam unfortunately and I don’t know how wise it is to choose a multiplayer only game like ESO since they will eventually shut down the servers
I figure I would get bored of ESO in 15 or so years when it closes. I suspect any game will lose me at a point. For the time it’s online, it would offer a lot.
I’ll sub Minecraft out for No Man’s Sky. Valheim was close to taking the spot but it just doesn’t ring as fun when friends aren’t around. I would pace myself big time.
