I just can’t trust innovations and discoveries coming from China, I’m excited, but I’ll hold my breath until it’s been replicated by a less untrustworthy source

Donjuanme ,

Definitely a classic.

Donjuanme ,

I’ve been looking to get core keeper for quite some time…

Donjuanme ,

Hades is absolutely the culmination of so much experience in modern rogue-lite games and game development.

It’s sequel comes out soon and I’m not going to be patient about jumping head first into it.

Donjuanme ,

Dude they made another trine??? Damn I’ve gotta get that into my library. Some of the most fun co-op I’ve ever done was trine, trine 2 and trine 3. Hopefully 5 took a lot of “don’t do that”'s from trine 4.

Donjuanme ,

Me too, thinking I’ll finally have some enlightenment as to how to kill the first night or twos zombies without getting killed and rage quitting.

I’ve even watched “beginner tutorials” on that game game, and conveniently they ended the first video just after nightfall of the first night, and started the second video during the second day, but that’s not how it friggin works, you need to murder the enemies lest they murder you, and in 5 different starts of the game, across 3 different devices, I’ve yet to kill the first or second nights horde without them breaking down my doors and wrecking my shit.

That game is one of my biggest regrets, I bought the 4 pack when it first came out thinking my friends and I would all have a great time, it makes me feel like I’m old and disconnected that I can’t enjoy that stupid (supposedly fantastic) game.

Donjuanme ,

Definitely a legit take, there are very few people I wouldn’t recommend Hades to, if only for enough playthroughs to get to the “end” of the story. Though there is so much past that

Donjuanme ,

Thank you for that! Maybe it’s that time of the decade again.

Why couldn’t any of the tips for noobs have given that advice? (I watched at least half a dozen, many years ago though)

Donjuanme ,

Mother nature is scary AF

Do you dig it out or just go over top with new road it’s gotta be pretty effed up underneath all that, before chiseling through it and clearing it off, and where do you go with the slag if you do dig it out? Do you treat it like snow?

Donjuanme ,

Yet another lawsuit they’re queuing up for why Trump lost again.

Donjuanme ,

And I face a lifestyle of carefree happiness when I buy a lottery ticket.

Donjuanme ,

I would hold 5 owls.

Donjuanme ,

There was a really fun show I found… Let me get the name… “Joe and Katherine bargain holidays”, where they"vacation" on a “budget”, in the first (or second?) episode the go to an owl sanctuary, where they learn it’s 3$ (pounds) to hold an owl, Joe is flabbergasted by this and announces that he’s going to spend more money holding owls than on anything else in this episode, I think they started with 10 owls for 30 pounds, then asked to round it up to a dozen, then a bakers dozen. It actually looked like something I’d gladly spend money to do, and I would imagine it’s a pretty good cause.

The series is posted to YouTube, and if you haven’t seen “task master” I cannot recommend it highly enough. Joe and Katherine are on season 2. Save season 7 until you’ve seen enough of it to be comfortable with what’s going on, because it’s an amazing season (as they all are) but the cast is the least restrained in their antics.

Economists have successfully predicted 22 of the last 10 recessions

Donjuanme ,

Last time this was announced there was no primary research cited,

Donjuanme ,

And the independent is garbage enough to give it to them

Donjuanme ,

I’m fine admitting the government that invaded Afghanistan was fucked and should be charged with war crimes. Same with Russia and Israel right now, same with desert storm.

Strange how all those governments had the same ideological bend to them… But both sides are the same…

Donjuanme ,

Or you need to identify those who aren’t behaving properly (sickness or other resource intense disability) and should be outcast from the group (something we don’t need to do today, but the right wing narrative insists that need to do)

Donjuanme ,

I do believe there’s a happy medium between out-casting and electing, probably even a large amount of medium space.

But that’s not what you get in a first past the post system.

Donjuanme ,

I’m sorry, you don’t see phobias in the right wing?

It’s proven right wing individuals have more active fear trigger regions of the brain.

Building a wall and shutting down the border, letting people die of dehydration in the desert, are policies from the left wing?

Donjuanme ,

Gotta be pink Floyd wish you were here…

But there are so many good ones.

samojedesamu , to aww
Donjuanme ,

Sammy!!

Yours?

Donjuanme ,

It’s really not a hard thing to cut out… Especially with how much I’ve heard they cost these days, for the exact same shitty product.

I used to go once in a while to get their shitty cheap breakfast burritos (thinking about it makes my mouth water), 2 for 2 Dollars.

Last time I went I was out almost 5 dollars for the exact same shitty tiny breakfast burritos.

I can get a giant hand made breakfast burrito for less than twice that. Or a carton of beaten eggs, Mexican cheese tortillas and sausage for the same price

Donjuanme ,

It’s not the shared root system tree in North America? I could totally see it being a mushroom.

Donjuanme ,

Was going to say this is a good refresher on o-chem. Such a stupid meme.

Donjuanme ,

Wow, you couldn’t have come up with a more ironic statement…

Donjuanme ,

Do you have a steam account already? Do you have a gaming pc of any variety?

I love my deck, but I’m a nearly 20 year steam user. If you have a backlog and no steam account, why would you give yourself more of a backlog? (Although the emulation ability of the deck is fantastic, but again, why did a bigger back log hole?)

Donjuanme ,

Sounds like a deck is perfect for you, I’d recommend the refurbished 512 led (got one for mom, she’s loving it, and hasn’t had a single problem), or the smallest LCD and a large memory card.

Emulation is a breeze, and it’s a pretty powerful gaming PC in it’s own right. I rarely push it, but I’ve run Witcher 3, which was as good as my 5 year old "gaming"laptop, and baldurs gate 3 runs decently. I’ve seen my buddy run ‘no man’s sky’ at what looked like buttery 60fps, though he didn’t have the overlay turned on. I’d recommend a cheap Bluetooth mouse and keyboard, and a kickstand unless you’re going to play it hooked up to the TV, then you’ll need a pass through power cable and usbc-> TV input adapter (HDMI), or the dock that they sell, but I haven’t had reason to try one.

Their fur is very dense, otter fur has more hairs per square inch than any other mammal, a million per square inch, like a hundred times what humans have. The oils excreted into their fur creates a hydrophobic layer that keeps the water on the outside. It’s in nowhere near shark skin (which exhibits incredibe hydrodynamics, like we’re studying it in labs to better improve aerodynamics of cars and planes, a single bite of food is enough to get a great white shark from California to Japan their skin is so efficient at moving through water), but it’s very good at keeping the water out and their movement efficient, their hair does not cause Resistance like human hair does. Our hair hangs out and gets water in it and creates drag, otter hair seals itself around the meat and creates a cylinder, keeping happy warm dry otter inside.

I got the treat of touching/petting a wild otter while it was sedated, it’s on of my top 10 experiences. It was not a happy camper when it woke up. It had to be in an ice bath while sedated otherwise it’s hair/fur coat would’ve caused it to overheat while being knocked out because it is incapable of homeostatic regulation while sedated. When it woke up it was a wild otter in an ice bath, lil (haha, huge actually) dude was pissed.

Donjuanme ,

I’ve never felt one under water, nor did I try to go skin deep when I had my opportunity, but I would guess they’re pretty dry under there, I couldn’t say for sure though.

Greater Idaho movement: 13 counties in eastern Oregon have voted to secede and join Idaho (ktvz.com)

On Tuesday, voters in Crook County passed measure 7-86, which asked voters if they support negotiations to move the Oregon/Idaho border to include Crook County in Idaho. The measure is passing with 53% of the vote, and makes Crook County the 13th county in eastern Oregon to pass a Greater Idaho measure.

Donjuanme ,

Ah yes, those vote suppressing Democrats…

I do think there needs to be a dissolution of the parties, but accusing both sides of being the same is not valid nor useful in the state (lol, country?) that we currently live in.

Donjuanme ,

States are the test tubes of government ideas.

Donjuanme ,

Plenty of spots on the 80 I cruise the speed limit in the 2nd slowest lane without any troubles. Just because a few people need to fly doesn’t mean the rest of the world does.

Donjuanme ,

You’re asking for twice as much noise into your ears?

I’m certain there are recordings of background noise, but none of it will do what you’re asking. It’d be like trying to cancel a recording of your voice by talking over it. A fun experiment to get the grandkids to do when they go home. Better yet, on the car ride home.

Donjuanme ,

Overwhelming the noise is another option, a white noise soundtrack might be a decent bet. Otherwise you’re going to want to go with ear plugs.

Donjuanme ,

Someone has to push Mississippi to keep finding ways to be worse.

Donjuanme ,

Glass fire in central California, I saw it the very first morning on my way to work (a Sunday), had no idea it was going to become as big as it did.

Donjuanme ,

I was just talking about this yesterday.

My wife has a top of the line “remarkable” with upgraded storage space, she’s grandfathered into that option, which is no longer available. it’s now entirely monthly subscriptions, she wouldn’t have had the opportunity if she weren’t an early adopter.

We used to swear by “never buy iteration 1 of a generation” but today it seems that if a product is going to be successful, it’s going to get degraded in iteration 2.

Textbook enshittification. Now you have to take a chance on something being good and the company sticking around, and buy in before it gets on the radar of investors.

Donjuanme ,

It’s as if this headline were written to stir discussion on lemmy.

Donjuanme ,

Or you just let it be elliptical for a while and that shit will burn up before very long.

You don’t need to hit the center of the sun to be incinerated by it.

Donjuanme ,

Here I was (before reading the bottom line), thinking this was a comic about Elon musk trying to radicalize the next generation…

Donjuanme ,

Man, I was taught “don’t judge a book by it’s cover” but you’re burying it by it’s genre, I hope you can experience new things once in a while .

Donjuanme ,

Love my plushie, haven’t played but maybe 3-4 hours since acquiring it a decade ago, still have the plushie though.

Donjuanme ,

Going to let an unannounced games rumored genre ruin your day?

Gamers need to set a better image of themselves.

Donjuanme ,

In this thread, people so excited to point at “the person using the word wrong” they haven’t considered that the Internet is really fucking Vegas up right now, and the thousands of wage slaves that find their honest lively-hood there.

Donjuanme ,

I’ve walked out of 5 casinos with more than I walked in with, I’ve shown many people, none of them will deny it’s effectiveness.

You aren’t walking away with life changing money, but I’ve never once lost money at a casino, nor have any of my friends who go with me.

But much like this thread, it’s easier to doubt.

Donjuanme ,

Enjoy being nobody’s high point.

You probably work at a call center.
