Is "food" a social construct?
Hear me out. There’s nothing innate to an object that makes it “food”. It’s an attribute we give to certain things that meet certain qualities, i.e. being digestible, nutritious, perhaps tasty or satisfying in some way, etc. We could really ingest just about anything, but we call the stuff that’s edible “food”....
Isn't it weird that we have exactly five fingers and five toes on each hand and foot.
I mean why 5, why 5 on each limb, why not 4 or 6. Why do our feet also have 5. Whats with our body being so symmetrical....
Ever notice mammals never seem to come in green?
Birds, fish, reptiles, amphibians, insects? Sure. But no mammals....

Being stuck in a pod by yourself makes it kinda difficult to get intimate with someone in the real world.
Trump saying he'll be a dictator only on day 1 is the strategy of normalizing it.
Just make it so normal that people accept it....

Maybe ghosts are real, but since they're incorporeal they're unaffected by gravity and get left behind in the void of space
Maybe many Lemmy users don't understand "shower thoughts" because they don't shower.

There are songs we've gone our whole lives without hearing and the best song we've ever heard might still be out there.
WE'RE ALL GOING TO DIE
The idiom of "doesn't grow on trees" as a metaphor for scarcity falls apart when you realize that food does grow on trees yet is still very scarce.
Extremely not-fun fact: collectively, humanity currently produces more than enough food for every person. But a huge part of it is either wasted or inaccessible by people that need them, which usually results in them not going to anyone and being wasted, which is why we still have food scarcity.
"Fry" is an ambiguous word in English

Sex work would probably be less stigmatized in a currencyless society
Thinking about this because of a greentext I saw earlier complaining about OF models....
The increasing distrust many Americans have in modern medical advances is probably mostly due to our failing Healthcare system.
It’s easy not to trust a system associated with charging you $500 for Tylenol. Much easier (and occasionally even safer) to just smell some lavender and hope that helps. Go to an ED and you could just die of a stroke or heart attack in the waiting room or even get run over by somebody who died of a heart attack while driving...
Beer and Wine are vegan drinks.
It's possible that disrepect towards animals including harmless bugs is a bad influence on how we treat people
The Hyperloop might be a good idea maybe a 100 years from now
HEAR ME OUT BEFORE YOU DOWNVOTE....
Monkeys given infinite time would probably get carpal tunnel or form a labor union before typing out Shakespeare.
If you spent eternity in a fiery pit wouldn't you just get use to being in a fiery pit?
If other countries can afford massive internet pysops why can't I find a job in the states where I get to meme and troll all day for the US military?

The more air conditioners in an area the hotter becomes around it. In turn increasing the demand for AC. Infinite money glitch.
Calling things "fat" or "heavy" is fattist. We should all say "rotund" instead.
As in did you hear that beat??...
