They should have a trash can outside the type of public restrooms where you have to turn a door handle to get out so you can throw away a paper towel if you use it to open the door.

Even doctor’s offices don’t do it. I get that it could mean double the trash to empty if you have one both inside and outside, but just for the purposes of public health…

Is really possible to understand the magnitude of ones own brain?

Think about it. The more you learned about your brain the more complex it would become. Also I’m not sure we have enough capacity to reflect on ourselves by processing everything. Think about the massive complexity of every connection. Could someone actually process that or are we limited by ourselves?

We are going to have to reevaluate our moralities when people in the future can look like children while not actually being children

The youngest generations are probably like the people of Easter Island when they were cutting down the last tree.

They know that it should be the opposite to save their island but the king and his court won’t listen to them. The king’s whole lineage cut down as much as they wanted, so he’s having a tantrum that it’s not working out the same for him. He’s doing it anyway. Entitlement can do that to a fellow.

If you're thinking about something and reach a conclusion that's super outside the mainstream, you could be right, but also could mean you should reinspect your assumptions.

I saw a post on lemmy about how we could prevent 133 holocausts by promoting animal rights and veganism. The article opened by doing some math about how many dogs you could torture and kill in order to be equivalent to taking a human life, and then how many animals humans kill, and concluded that we’re committing holocaust...

What if the only reason countries, like the U.S., agree to arm other countries when they are in conflict, is because international billionaires have placed bets on which country will win?

I mean, if the super wealthy are sitting back, in their mansions, when each of these conflicts erupts, and they start placing bets on which side wins, it might play a role in which side our government leaders choose to arm/support.
