It sucks that we’re unlikely to get a vaccine targeting a difficult to change part of the virus by the established mRNA makers. We would probably need a new entity to do it.
I don’t know whether they even had any data on change difficulty. I think it was more like - we needed a vaccine yesterday and Moderna and BioNTech had the mRNA technology just ready to be able to spin up a vaccine quickly. And that was good enough to save a lot of people from severe disease.
They definitely had something, I remember reading about it at the time. it might have involved what they knew about previous coronavirus’s as well. Whatever they had though it ended up being wrong.
Yes, but 4 years ago was an interesting time in my life. I had just quit smoking, rented a house above my means to give my disabled sister somewhere safe to live while grieving over her deceased caregiver, and spent whatever money I had saved to move her across the country.
She’s thankfully doing well now and engaged with someone she is absolutely head over heels for.
I’m still financially recovering, but things are moving in the correct directions.
I want the rich to not be rich anymore, not for them to be killed. And I definitely don’t want children of rich people to be abused, because child abuse is bad.
Personally, I don’t care if the rich stay rich. I want the rich to pay a proportionate amount of their wealth in taxes, equal to or maybe even a little more than the proportionate amount I pay as a non fecal dragon sitting atop the mountain of gold I’ve shit all over. I also want rich to stop staying rich because their parents and parents’ parents (etc) were rich and paid to have the system rigged so their degenerate children can stay rich without merit.
Glad to hear that. The top comment is talking about the people that do think the rich should be killed. And those people co-existing with people that empathize with Paris Hilton on lemmy.
