It’s actually not clear that viewing material leads that person to causing in person abuse

Providing non harmful ways to access the content may lead to less abuse as the content they seek no longer comes from abuse, reducing demand for abusive content.

That being said, this instance isn’t completely fabricated and given its further release is harmful as it it involves a real person and will have emotional impact.

There has been yes, but it doesn’t mean it’s the right ruling law. The law varies on that by jurisdiction as well because it is a murky area.

Edit: in the USA it might not even be illegal unless there was intent to distribute

By the statute’s own terms, the law does not make all fictional child pornography illegal, only that found to be obscene or lacking in serious value. The mere possession of said images is not a violation of the law unless it can be proven that they were transmitted through a common carrier, such as the mail or the Internet, transported across state lines, or of an amount that showed intent to distribute.[

So local AI generating fictional material that is not distributed may be okay federally in the USA.

Have the AI try to recreate existing CP already deemed to have serious value and then have all the prompts/variations leading up to the closest match as part of an exhibit.

Edit: I should add, don’t try this at home, they’ll still probably say it has no value and throw you in jail.

NotMyOldRedditName ,

Ah my bad, you’re right.

Then you’ll probably get shanked if any of the other inmates find out you were sent there for CP.

Schrodingers leaks

You know you had 5 leaks yesterday, but you don’t know how many actual leaks you’ll have until you turn it on and look again.

NotMyOldRedditName ,

It probably doesn’t need to be an optional app if they’re giving you the ability to use any model you want at the OS level integration.

When you’re using the device for the first time show a screen and let them choose AI / provide their own local model.

I wonder how listing things alphabetical would go given apple would keep them near the top.

NotMyOldRedditName ,

They might not have slept with him.

The last one to make the news rounds he was just a sperm donor. I think that was also at Neuralink.

NotMyOldRedditName ,

I never thought I’d have to ponder the question of whether it is an affair to be a sperm donor if you conceal it from your partner.

It’s definitely not the right thing to do either way.

NotMyOldRedditName ,

Also when you own as much of a company like he does, and try to cash out, you cause the stock to plummet rapidly as you increase the available amount of shares. Basic supply and demand.

It was quite dramatic as he was selling shares to buy Twitter.

Whatever number gets thrown around as his wealth is just a paper number. It’s a fraction of that if he sold it all.

NotMyOldRedditName ,

I still feel like the way he sold all that stock for Twitter on the open market wasn’t in the best interest of the shareholders.

Why didn’t he try to negotiate a sale with Blackrock or someone and give them a 25% discount or something and do a large block sale.

Pretty sure something like that is an option if done right. It still would have hurt the stock price, but the Twitter sale was pretty brutal with it going on for weeks.

NotMyOldRedditName ,

So that would be around $2.40 fine for someone making 50k/year

NotMyOldRedditName ,

Just think of how many laws I can break at $2.40 a pop!

NotMyOldRedditName ,

Just be racist to the cashier when purchasing the avocado and in their absolute distress, walk out with it without paying.

Not sure if that’d be $2.40 or $4.80 but might be the cheaper way to fuel the addiction.

NotMyOldRedditName ,

That’s what the prisoner/guard experiment showed.

NotMyOldRedditName ,

The cybertruck (6653 lbs) weighs less than a Ford 150 lightning (6745lbs) and Rivian R1T (7148lbs)

It’s not even worth looking up the Silverado or Hummer with their humongous batteries

All EV full size trucks are very heavy due to the batteries right now.

For the cybertruck, the stainless steel design actually allowed them to reduce weight by the steel being part of the structure, thus reducing or removing the need for things like side impact crash structures

NotMyOldRedditName ,

Sure, but it’s weight, for what it is, isn’t absolutely ridiculous and is actually best in class.

NotMyOldRedditName , (edited )

Can you believe those Tesla Model 3 LR. They weigh 4,034 lbs, and it’s a SEDAN! ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS! The comparable ICE Mercedes-Benz A-Class only weighs 3395 lbs, what was Tesla thinking!

NotMyOldRedditName ,

It’s the Hummer. 205kwh (311miles) vs 123kwh (320 miles CyberBeast/340 AWD).

At least the Silverado while heavier, gets more range which if you really need the range for towing, is beneficial.

NotMyOldRedditName ,

I got this boat I gotta tow 150 miles, sure glad I can choose the better herpes, and definitely better than years ago when my only choice was cancer!

NotMyOldRedditName ,

This boat was meant for one lake

And that’s just what it’ll do.

None of these days this boat is going find another lake.

NotMyOldRedditName ,

That probably tops the worst people to try rob at gunpoint list.

NotMyOldRedditName ,

So some years ago, the probe went into some area between our solar system and interstellar space. Getting info back about that is quite useful in learning more about that area.

I’m not sure if its through it yet, but if it is, then we’re getting data back about what’s after that as well. Does that data change over time? What if there’s yet another transition area and we learn about it?

Having something actually there helps us know if all these theories are right, and the more data we get, the more sure we can be

NotMyOldRedditName ,

The solar winds interact with interstellar winds and create a threshold between the two

NotMyOldRedditName ,

That sink analogy is great. It’s even non uniform like the heliopause

NotMyOldRedditName ,

Assuming something was on, I’m not even convinced it was FSD and it could have easily been AP.

The media and police get that wrong more often than right, and the article isn’t even specifically naming either one.

NotMyOldRedditName , (edited )

All cars since mid 2019 have the computer required for FSD.

At this point that includes the majority of all Teslas ever sold. Somewhere between 750k and 800k of 6 million don’t have the hardware. And of those 100-200k are upgradeable, maybe more but the research time isn’t worth it.

That being said, it still could have been AP and not FSD as the media gets it confused all the time.

NotMyOldRedditName ,

Ya, it’s been that long and they’ve made a lot of cars since heh.

I got mine in H1 2019 and it was HW 2.5, and sometime shortly after that HW3 came out. At the time I knew that was the situation but I wasn’t concerned since they said they’d upgrade it.

It took awhile after HW3 came out to be offered the upgrade though. By the time I was eligible, we were in the peak of early covid lockdowns and I wasn’t traveling to the not so close service center for the upgrade.

Eventually they did it via mobile service and I got it.

NotMyOldRedditName ,

I can’t imagine a scenario where they’d be on FSD or AP pressing the accelerator AND looking at their phone.

It’s one thing to press it because it’s hesitant or something but that would usually mean you’ve presses it because it’s not doing what you want which means you were watching.

Him admitting he was on his phone (if truthful) would mean he was pressing the accelerator thus overriding the input AND not paying attention.

It’s a stretch to far.

If he lied about the phone to try and blame AP/FSD then that could make sense.

NotMyOldRedditName ,

I mean, if you can do it in 2 hours I think it’s pretty fair to want you to do something else, but if it’s whole day thing and you finish an hour early you’re probably not going to be effective in that last hour anyway.

That’s not the best time to start something completely new

NotMyOldRedditName ,

Those times you see an oddly specific and very weird rule and you just know there’s probably a great story around it.

NotMyOldRedditName ,

Can you have it replace the video screen portion with cat videos from another source during the unskippable part?

NotMyOldRedditName ,

Instant millions of installs

NotMyOldRedditName ,

But think of the cats!!!

NotMyOldRedditName ,

“Our corruption to the core would be too obvious if we heard this case”

NotMyOldRedditName ,

There was some internal dispute and he also claimed it was a conflict of interest with Tesla developing AI stuff. But I can’t imagine how any conflict that may have existed with OpenAI doesn’t exist with xAI

NotMyOldRedditName ,

Sometimes you just have to wait and its handy. We’ve used it for multi hour ferry waits and or the rides if we don’t want to leave the vehicle.

NotMyOldRedditName ,

Electric motors can last a really long time, assuming no defects, they should outlast the battery by a Longshot.

That leaves the battery, and an LFP battery should also last a hell of a long time, probably a decent way into a million km before you have degraded to about 80%.

If you got those key items lasting, then it just depends on how well the rest of the car holds up, but replacing small parts while the motors and battery works is probably always going to be more cost effective.

The problem is the battery is a wildcard still.

We know how long those LFP batteries should last in a car, but they’re also pretty are in cars and we don’t have that real world data yet.

I also fear that OEMs will still gouge us on replacement batteries 15 - 20 years from now when costs are even lower and replacing the battery shouldn’t be so expensive.

NotMyOldRedditName ,

But battery cells don’t just fail after a specific time. Maybe a component in the battery will like a switch or gasket though.

Motors are highly resilient as well.

I’m not as sure about the motors, but I really am optimistic on the LFP batteries.

A social app for creatives, Cara grew from 40k to 650k users in a week because artists are fed up with Meta’s AI policies | TechCrunch (techcrunch.com)

Artists have finally had enough with Meta’s predatory AI policies, but Meta’s loss is Cara’s gain. An artist-run, anti-AI social platform, Cara has grown from 40,000 to 650,000 users within the last week, catapulting it to the top of the App Store charts....

Isn’t this just going to be a battle of AIs?

Train the AI on what glaze does and it’ll eventually be able to deglaze. So glaze gets better and stops it for a bit and then the deglazer gets better and wins again. Repeat forever.

NotMyOldRedditName ,

Nah, the glazers are needed to make the AI more robust

NotMyOldRedditName ,

We had a 2 week window 2 or 3 days after earnings were released.

Edit: You could preschedule sales though like recurring once a month, but it wouldn’t take effect immediately. I can’t remember what the delay on that was, but it might have been starting after the next earnings?

NotMyOldRedditName ,

At what PSI are you almost just driving on the rims? I get that on sand that wouldn’t be an issue, but 10psi sounds like rims on a road to me?

NotMyOldRedditName ,

Perfect, now Google can kill Wear OS without fear of tizen taking it all.

Mission accomplished!

The code may contain some proprietary things they want to remove. Maybe it’s not up to public standards and they don’t want to be looked down upon. Maybe it could reveal vulnerabilities in other code if not cleaned up.

There could be a lot of reasons.
