I look forward to finding out what the shooters motivations are. I don’t personally expect it to be a left-wing partisan but something else, though I’ll refrain from speculating here. Let’s just say that there current Republican party tends to infight - to try and eat itself any time it senses weakness or deviance from the cult’s marching orders.
Once law enforcement announced the shooter’s identity and the world gets to dig into his social media and communications data… Well I guess we shall see.
It’s a 20 year old white guy who was a registered Republican according to the NY Post. But he also gave $15 to The Progressive Turnout Project. According to reports, his dad bought him the rifle a few weeks ago.

There is a noticably bloody area in is right upper earlobe that could be a chunk taken out by basically a 5.56 round, but again, its too crappy to be definitive.
Also this twitter poster claiming it is a bb gun is a fucking moron.
BB Guns do not have have an echoing report after the initial shot, as is easily audible from the shots that occur after the audio re equalizes when Trump goes down from the podium.
The audio sounds tinny and poppy because it is equalized for human voice in a large outdoor environment. A BB gun would not be audible whatsoever.
If the shots came from inside the crowd, as it currently seems they did, the rounds would have travelled at an upward angle, and could have nicked or taken out a small chunk of his ear, around where his ear is most bloody.
Trump would have had to be basically looking right at the shooter.
That would make more sense than a downward trajectory from a building or something.
Yep, more and more people on CNN are saying as much.
That would make the elevation difference either flat, or possibly still slightly upward or slightly downward depending on the height of the podium vs surrounding terrain vs height of the apparently single story building the guy was on.
My main point was that a nicking of the top of the ear would be less likely from a more significant downward trajectory, such as the top of a 20 story building or something like that.
That trajectory would be more likely to take more of the ear off, going downward further through the ear from where the bloodiest area can be seen in the images.
Im going by my best guess at a wound size via images, and its currently being reported that the shooter was outside the event perimeter, meaning the shots would have been taken from likely outside the effective range of a pistol, so, while it is still a guess, I am still going with a 5.56 rifle of some kind.
Also, in my experience, common pistol rounds barely make any report as can be heard in the audio in similar conditions (large open area).
The gunshots sound tinny and plinky because the audio was set up for a speech in a loud noisy environment, watch similar audio footage of say a reporter in a warzone and you will find distant rifle rifle sounds similar.
The shooter was only 400ft away… that’s nothing and there are 9mm rifles though I’m not concrete on 9mm, it’s just the report didn’t sound like the lords caliber.
That being said, there is an interview some British journalist did with a man who witnessed the shooter (I saw the clip on Kyle Kulinsky’s youtube, not sure the actual source of the clip), and he described him as climbing up onto a roof with a rifle.
Could it be a 9mm technically im a pistol but i looke like a rifle kind of thing? Sure.
Im sure we will find out within 48 hrs some details about the shooter’s weapon, given that his corpse is already in custody.
But the crazies always cared about trump, they already thought the FBI doc raid was an attack on him. But those coveted low information voters swing voters? Dunno if this sticks. No national event seems to stick for more than a month. Will this drum up more Trump voters? Or will the fear of wagon circling maga voters push more dems to fall in line and show up in Nov? It’s way too far out to tell.
