She doesn’t have to worry about people turned off by Biden in general to win the nomination. She doesn’t need to care about voters at all to win the nomination, she just has to appeal to a handful of DNC operatives because the primary is over.
Assuming the Biden can’t simply reassign his delegates to Harris that is - in which case she’s essentially already won the nomination before she even started running.
Now the election on the other hand…the election also isn’t particularly about what she has to offer. The election is all about Trump. People are either voting for Trump or not-Trump, and the vast majority of not-Trump voters aren’t all that concerned with what form not-Trump takes so long as it isn’t Trump. It’s entirely a matter of turnout.
I’m more curious whether she’ll go for a milquetoast generic moderate Democrat or a progressive well to her left - if nothing else it will say something about what she sees as her bigger weakness. I’d put odds on a white guy either way to appease the lesser racists (aka the same reason Biden was Obama’s VP).
I do think she still needs to be careful on Israel for the General, people were serious about the Uncommitted vote.
I am willing to vote for her (and I would not vote Biden under any circumstance), but I will never put it past Democrats to fumble even under the best conditions, let alone in this clusterfuck.
People are ready to compromise, hopefully she doesn’t swallow her own tongue or tie her own shoelaces together or whatever.
I was planning on voting Uncommitted on the presidential if Biden stayed in (and voting down ballot, obviously).
The only way I wouldn’t vote for Harris at this point is if in the next four months she comes out as some insane zionist as bad as Biden, which I really doubt she will.
Nope. A term doesn’t count if it’s less than two years, so Biden could resign now and Harris could be still have two full terms on top of the remaining five months of this term.
This feels like postering to me. Trump was recorded while playing golf with Barron that “Biden’s out. It’s gonna be Kamala”. He’s already been considering this for at least a week or more.
Trump isn’t upset about going up against Kamala and he’s already been saying that he will stomp her, which I am so fearful he will that it makes me tear up.
He’s already been considering this for at least a week or more.
He and his team have considered it, but I doubt Trump is capable of preparing for it. His team will try, but – like Biden – he is an old man past his prime. Voters do not want Project 2025, so Trump’s team CAN’T talk about it with anything but denial, and that is the only ‘plan’ they have. The rest is a few insults that Trump repeat over and over, to which Harris can say, “I’ll take the insults if it keeps necessary abortions legal. I’ll take it to keep schools open. To improve them. To make sure [insert message here] is expanded, not abolished.”
This just shows that both political parties in ameria are insane. The dems just gift Trump the office. They deserve the 2nd Trump term. Just sad for the rest of the world that doesnt deserve it.
