Civil rights charges? I count several counts of battery, kidnapping, sexual assault, and attempted murder.
How in the world can you call putting a gun in a handcuffed person’s mouth and pulling the trigger anything but attempted murder? Or forcing a sex toy into the mouth of an unconsenting, handcuffed person anything but sexual assault/rape?
While I dislike this model I understand it, in the past sometimes you needed to pay more for that brand new stereo or AC. What I find it annoying is that you bought the car with the upgrades already on it, just need to open the paywall.
And at the end of the day they won’t put it from their pocket, or you already paid for them or the people that bought the upgrades are financing the unused ones from others.
It really fucks with the resale market, too. As is the intention. People will be getting used cars and being told they need to pay full, new price to unlock features.
More reasons to want right to repair and adversarial interoperability. So that if Tesla refuses to reasonable implement features that the hardware fully supports, a third-party can do it instead.
I live in Pittsburgh. Originally the trial was supposed to take place in 2020 but got pushed back due to covid.
Then the jury pool was absolutely massive. My roommate and I both got served juror summons. I didn’t have to go to the courthouse on my date, and he didn’t get called as a juror when he went down. I feel like they were related to this.
I was actually surprised they held the trial in the city, especially for a federal one. The wounds for this tragedy cut pretty deep here.
Had a coworker give birth recently. She told us it was “rough” and casually dropped that she hemorrhaged almost 2,000ml of blood. My jaw dropped. (The average person has~4l of blood, and she’s small)
I’ve been out there before when I was in wildland fire with BLM, one of the issues with the Preserve is (and issue meaning making things more difficult, not that it’s a bad thing in general) there’s a very strict ban on vehicles going anywhere besides premade roads/trails.
That means that instead of like most fires in this type of fuel where engines can drive up and directly attack it, it’s a hiking game. And even then there is strict rules about what kind of damage you can do to the area. In any other area this would a straight forward, put dozer line in, have crews start burning, and engines start mobile attacking areas they can get to. That’s why seeing fires like this sucks, because I know the crew (if they haven’t all left yet) from the Mojave National Preserve, and I know they’d want to do more to stop it.
