We shouldn't wait until it gets to that point. Look at the past, plenty of racism examples to work from that became violent. What really makes it worse is that Trump, Vance, and others are doubling down on the mistake, fanning flames that should have just been a one day "that's stupid". They want violence, it helps their cause, excites their base.

These aren’t the words of some MAGA devotee, she seems pretty genuine on this and I don’t see any reason not to believe her. I instead blame those who have purposefully worsened and spread this rumor for racist ends. Imagine if you made an offhand post on Lemmy that inadvertently spun up a rumor that reached a fucking presidential.debate, I bet you’d be caught pretty off guard by that.
Firefighter here. Sometimes a better and less harmful option is to let things burn and protect the area. I went to a semi wreck that was hauling diesel and on fire on its side in the grassy median about 100’ away from a storm drain. Trying to put that out with just water would have become an environmental nightmare if all that fuel would have gotten washed into the storm system.
This is insanity. Voting sites should be under the control of the federal government and run by nonpartisan commissions. States and especially not some county courthouse should have no control over whether or not a polling site exists. Polling sites should be based on population density regardless of voter turnout and Election Day should be a national holiday where everyone has the opportunity and ability to vote locally. All of this should be written into the constitution. This is pure voter suppression and anyone attempting this should be charged.
States legislators are the ones who choose electors to send to the Congress for the official vote. Technically, they can do whatever they want and ignore the votes of the people. You would need a constitutional amendment to chang be the way voting works and have the federal government control voting and elector selection requirements.

Sort of weird looking by current standards. I don’t know how long it will be before I see one of these. I live in a rural area, and our local USPS seems to use personal vehicles I guess? I don’t really know for sure, but they don’t drive the standard white and blue box that USPS drivers had when I lived in more urban/suburban settings.
There’s too much US specific legal mumbo jumbo and administration terms in there for me, but seeing that there’s a bit of resistance against this whole “ban books” thing is good.
