DO most employers want to get this right? Based on the fact that wage theft is the largest form of theft even with everything else combined, I think thatâs either a lie or a stupid thing to say.
Also, I just donât understand under what circumstances anyone should be exempt from overtime. Is there some group of people who are less deserving of getting paid for their time that I am unaware of? Even (shudder) managers should probably get paid.
Since MOST companies are small and privately held Iâd say yeah, most of them probably do. The issue is mostly with large publicly traded companies and because they have so many employees their cheating is what drives the statistics you quoted.
That doesnât mean a small company wonât ever try to cheat because they will, Iâm just saying that the smaller companies who are closer to their workers and donât have âshareholdersâ are far less likely to shiv someone over their OT.
I doubt this will go very far with the red controlled house. But Iâm happy to have something new to occupy the news cycle other than bucking about switching candidates.

I take solace in knowing weâre only destroying ourselves and many of the contemporary species unlucky enough to have existed during the short time in Earthâs history where we played pretend we were this worldâs masters/owners instead of its children/subjects that we actually were.
Personally I donât think humans are going anywhere. We might destroy most of the biosphere and a large portion of humanity but I bet in the end roaches go extinct before we do.
Anything is possible, but I would agree that barring an extinction level event. Weâll be around, although a mass kill off humans is likely in next 100 years.
Reminder from Hungary: Go and vote for Biden or whoever the democrats will replace him with. Fideszâes overreach is too big, they destroy everything they donât like, and nowadays more and more people that were originally scared by the mass shootings and the ease of availability of guns would like us to have that same kind of access. Our only hope is either somehow the biggest allies of Fidesz disappear in one way or another (death, etc.), or the Ukrainians would really sell those weapons on the black market to us the Hungarian citizens.
I remember many art and similar projects die, because Fidesz defunded the art, then their cronies took over everything and only let artists that pushed blatant pro-Fidesz propaganda.
