Downplaying climate catastrophy is one of their main tenants. No surprise many have failed to even mention the number of potentially dead until it’s not a hot topic.
Each and every occurance will have an explanation that makes sense. It happened in reality: It will have a literal cause.
The point of tying this to climate change is the trend of ever-increasing severity and commonality of storms like the one that turned a simple fire in to a disaster.
The news isn’t going to talk about the trend of increasing problems unless they can immediately scape-goat it to other topics, like “poorly maintained electricals”. Why are they poorly maintained? The government regulates the sh*t out of utilities: we COULD require it. Why are we not preparing infrastructure for a more difficult future?
The news will never tell you. They just want you to be mad at someone specific and forget who it was by the next segment. Then, you’re upset, watching, and not leaving to do anything about it because they’re only whining about small specific problems normal people have no control over.
Conservatism is a plague of idiocy. Conservatives thrive on oppressing others by depriving them of education, healthcare, clean water or other basic services found in developed countries. Instead, they encourage bigotry, racism, homophobia, antisemitism and xenophobia.
Do your part. Teach your children why we don’t do business or keep relationships with conservatives. We must marginalize hate by marginalizing haters.
But you’re right, a mate is an A320 captain and unruly pax are 98% of the time somewhat intoxicated. The 2 remaining % are just stupid people thinking they are above anyone else (like rushing to stand up right after landing to be first out and have a smoke on the tarmac while waiting for his family, yeah true story).

In like 2021 when the truckers were protesting g the vaccine at the border I made a man snap in public over what was legitimately a luke-warm shot at the protest.
I said something like “these dipshits are acting like they didn’t get their mandated MMR shots already.” And a guy next to me, not in the conversation, dramatically stood up, and loudly announced “You know what?! All you fuckin idiots think the situation is simple, but it’s a lot more fucking complex that the corporate media is making it out to be!” He stormed out. Didn’t pay his tab.
The whole bar just sat there in awe. Like “damn I guess some of us really got hit with that isolation crazy”
So they already had the Klan robes or are they saying that they formed the idea, made or bought robes, got dressed, grabbed their “props”, and made their way to the quiz all while drunk?
