And many handguns have come with 15-18 rounds magazines, the standard for decades. It’s ludicrous to ban the standard size, with hundreds of millions out there. Even if everyone obeyed this law, three criminals breaking into your house have 30 rounds to get you, and you have 10 rounds to try to take them out. Yup, problem solved.
This is totally shit (assuming it is real and either not a joke or not some planted sign to stir controversy), but if the sign said any other race, there would be a whole lot less outrage. Or no outrage at all.
I think the sign is racist as hell from the undertones it gives off. However there are plenty of black only, indian only, jewish only etc baby groups. No one seems to bat an eye at them. I would just like an answer to why segregation imposed by certain groups is acceptable and not others.
The reason why is because historically in Canada people who weren’t white were treated way worse by white people and even though things have improved today, the effects of that mistreatment still affects many people today.
Very good question. Why is it OK for thee but not for me? It shouldn’t be OK for anyone, quite honestly. Get everyone mixing together as young as possible, but only when one group tries to separate themselves does it become an issue. Hmmm.
As someone in Gen Z, I agree. We’re the first generation to grow up in a world where echo chambers are an established concept and a lot of people aren’t aware of that.
I actively try to avoid echo chambers and general tribalism and I also try to always look at the matter at hand instead of the people involved, but I still find my debating skills sub-par. The only way to improve those is by practice, so let’s hope that Gen Z is just a bit behind due to the pandemic.
I worked for a few spray-foam insulation companies in my early 20’s. I’m just waiting to hear the same thing from spray foam. Half the guys I worked with didn’t wear masks most of the time and were just covered in foam all day breathing in the off gassing of fire retardents and blowing agents and other nasty chemicals. I quit because I saw the writing on the wall and my boss hated me for quitting before training my replacement. I told him it wasn’t worth my health.
The dumbest thing is the mentality between workers sometimes. “Don’t be a pussy” some will say when you ask for masks/goggles/ear plugs/etc but none of them will be there when you eventually get injured or sick. None of them will congratulate you, hand you a tough-guy-trophy and pay your medical bills + pension.
Nah he was my boss and I was a decent sprayer, and a very very good helper. So to make fun of me wouldn’t have worked well for him. He understood my concerns. My other coworkers were not like that though, like someone in a comment above me said. They’d all crack jokes at me because I took safety very seriously. I would like to see how they are all doing now and I wonder about their health sometimes. I didn’t keep in touch with any of them though and live far away now.
The EPA/OSHA cut hexavalent chromium exposure limits by 100. Aircraft workers have been spraying, painting and airbrushing that shit for fucking ever. It’s uniquely good at its task (anti-corrosion) so there’s no making it go away any time soon.
Gotta say the investigative journalism on this one left a lot to be desired, like investigating and journalism. Anyone can write “hey I saw this thing on Instagram, might be real might not thanks for the click.”
Further concerns have arisen regarding Dr. Rehman. Separate allegations made by colleagues indicate that he and another physician, Dr. Matos Cruz, were observed watching YouTube videos on medical procedures they were unfamiliar with. One patient reportedly died after such a procedure, while another had to undergo three additional procedures at Ohio State University, according to families connected to the procedures.
Jesus… just own up if you don’t feel comfortable doing a procedure
