I occasionally go to a liquor store where the till asks if you want to tip, and it’s the most ridiculous thing ever because it’s a small store and the clerk isn’t helping you find shit.
In this specific instance, not much more, because I live in one of the few states where the minimum wage is the same for tipped and untipped workers (although gig drivers are still getting screwed here).
I reject this! This sounds edgy but muddies the water and distracts as to recognize what politics is. Politics is everything regarding decision-making in groups! not more not less. Recognize when that’s the case and fight!
Ikr when we really want more Ryan gosling and Margot robbie! How is that not obvious to them???
That said my favorite thing about it is they finally managed to nail that elusive women market and don’t even understand why. Wonder woman, reboot Ghostbusters, so many half assed money grab attempts thinking feminism is just lame rah rah girl power. Yet it’s the barbie movie that nails it and captures all audience’s. And the answer is more toy movies haha.
Sorry, but Barbie and feminism in the same sentence is painful to hear. Feminism is about changing society to make it more equal, not barbie… Barbie is about selling the most conservative toy ever (together with j.i.joe)
That’s why everyone is going to the toy movies. Because the political message of barbie is as fake as barbie, but it helps selling toys
What matters is the message the movie has to say and it had a true feminist message about equality.
Also The cast had barbies and Kens of all ethnicities and sizes.
And the movie was a really important moment for a lot of women and girls. I think it’s super closed minded to the point you’re the one missing out if you won’t give it a chance just because it is based around a toy with a problematic history.
There are a few inaccuracies and simplifications here. Lactalis is independent from Nestlé, though they have a co-entreprise for dairy. For l’Oréal, it’s a bit disingenuous to link both here because massive companies like that have a lot of mutual participations. And KitKat is manufactured by Hershey’s in the US I think.
That being said, Lactalis is equally shitty so you can avoid it anyway. And the same goes for l’Oréal. I don’t know about Hershey’s but I could bet.
Yes.
Instead of an owl on a tank top, you have a squirrel with big cheeks full of.. nuts on some assless short-short chaps (so the cheeks are the cheeks)😂😂
As long as money is required to survive, wage labor is coercion under threat of poverty and physical harm. And while coerced physical and mental labor are already bad enough, we have a word for particularly heinous, coerced sexual actions: rape.
Prostitution under capitalism isn’t cool just because feminine boys do it and you’re attracted to them.
Still ‘had to.’ It’s pretty disgusting to sit in a poorly ventilated classroom with 10 people coughing their lungs out and wiping their snot on the chairs. University by the way.
I like how the Japanese have always worn masks any time one of them was sick and it was never a problem for anyone. Fucking Americans are goddamn idiots and always have been. Being the biggest military as your only bragging point is proof of incompetence.
US gov: Spend 10 trillion dollars on the world’s biggest military operation to prevent retaliatory attacks caused by 3 trillion in oil investments after an attack kills 3k people in NY.
Also US Gov.: Spend 2 trillion to fighting a disease that kills millions of people, give up after 2 years. Most the money actually went to business bailouts.
Interesting question, I know I was like 7-8 when we invaded Iraq, living in the south and definitely propagandized (I remember they played “Proud to be an American” in the cafeteria for weeks after 9/11)
I didn’t know any better, afraid of/hated Muslims and remember asking a teacher why we didn’t just nuke all of the Middle East 🤦♂️
I don’t remember getting a rebuke at all.
Now I see how we were all played by the propaganda machine
Yes, exactly. The same people who are doing the antivax/antimask propaganda were the same ones who masturbated furiously to Toby Keith songs and called all of us who said “BAD IDEA!!!” traitors, America-haters, and every other slur under the sun. Never once have they apologized to Dixie Chicks even twenty years later having finally recognized the war for the sham it was. Still, those who hate the COVID response will still get mad as hell if you suggest cutting the “defense” budget. None of these people care about the money or the debts incurred or the astronomically high interest bill; their only concern is “will we be able to kill or punish someone?” regardless of the necessity.
Yeah I’m pretty sure fffp3/N95 masks should leave you almost completely protected in normal circumstances, outside of working in a hospital or whatever.
“Ahem. I am asking you if people were killed in the area immediately surrounding Tiananmen Square, even if nobody was killed in the square itself.”
—“The protesters in Tiananmen Square left after negotiations with the PLA. There was no bloodshed in Tiananmen Square.”
“I understand that, but were people killed elsewhere in Beijing?”
—“Nowhere in Beijing were student protestors specifically targeted.”
“Well, were non-students targeted, and were any students injured or killed without being targeted?”
—“Hey did you know that the Three Gorges Dam is the world’s largest—”
“Gongchandang, my friend, I am begging you.”
—“…Force may have been used when provoked by attacks.”
“May force have also been used unprovoked? Could it have been that the protesters felt like they were provoked first, because you were sending tanks past the barricades that they’d put up?”
—“I mean… you know… uhh…”
“Gongchandang. Were you scared that the occupation of Beijing and the potential of a workers’ revolt would threaten the survival of socialism in China, by presenting a still-socialist alternative to your rule, because societal division particularly among the less politically literate could be (and was) exploited by outside forces?”
—“OUR YOUTH ARE VULNERABLE TO IMPERIALIST PROPAGANDA, OK‽ ALSO, TANK MAN DIDN’T GET RUN OVER. SEE. HE WAS PULLED AWAY BY A PASSERBY. NOT RUN OVER.”
