I’ve been working on converting my gaming PC to Linux for a few weeks, but everything is running, but it all is just a little jankier than I would like....

I was a long time Windows user, starting with XP. I only tried Linux a few years ago, and while I loved it, at the time I had to dual boot for a couple specific Windows only things (VR and flight/racing sim hardware)....

I’ve been using Ubuntu as my daily driver for a good few years now. Unfortunately I don’t like the direction they seem to be heading....

With the widespread support for Steam/Valve on this forum because of their contributions to making Linux gaming easier, I’m now confused as to why people here are using Linux in the first place....

Edit2: Writing this from Pop_Os! I had experience with Mint for my Self hosting rig and wanted to see other pastures. Decided to rearrange my three drives, two of them are still Windows, another I emptied and dedicated to Pop OS. This is just to share my experience with everyone, especially the people still undecided....

I saw there was a somewhat similar post to this, but I’m kind of celebrating the fact that this was the first year I was able to game exclusively on Linux! I’m very thankful for all of the effort from the people involved in all of the aspects of Wine/Proton, it’s great to not need to reboot to play games.

I had to reinstall the OS cause OpenSUSE stopped booting after I installed the drivers the first time. X11 is ALSO buggy on Nvidia and crashes randomly....

Seriously. I don’t know that it can be done on Linux. There was a user on protondb that claimed the game works “even with lots of mods” but there’s no way to message people on there and ask them how the fuck they got something to work....
