Top right of my tab bar in firefox, there is a little down pointing arrow. I click that: BOOM vertical tabs. Now make it an optional fixed thingie and let me stack them. I may be missing something here, but that sounds like something an experience Firefox dev can implement in half an hour.
It’s a window manager feature. I don’t know which one is used in Cinnamon by default and if it is able to do so, but you can switch to another one anyway even without changing the complete DE. E. g. xfwm4 provides such a feature. I believe that kwin also does.
I also suggest you to try some tiling WM, you may like it.
Sometimes the easiest solution is multiple solutions
Maybe just write something to hook into the notification in Chrome, there’s probably a way to get that working within an electron app too if the desktop app (teams?) is electron
That won’t work if the backend ever changes, and will be locked into a single program
github.com/JorenSix/Olaf I’ve decided to use this, i’ll probably have a solution this week, i have to actually record the sounds my next workday, then i’ll test it. Seems much easier to do than making a chrome extension, honestly.
Have you tried macchanger? Also don’t disable network manager,.normally you should be able to change your Mac in network manager but it sounds like maybe you’re following a tutorial of some kind that might not be right.
I would use OpenWRT documentation to get an idea of low level mechanisms and paths. This looks like a rabbit hole but your answer is probably somewhere around here and is just setting an alias somewhere:
