(I realise you may not find such weirdness endearing as I do. This comment is partly a self directed joke because whilst I don’t have Opinions on soil like the person you replied to, I live for that niche nerd internet shit (which is one of the things that makes me weird too)
Man, Gmod must have changed a lot. I mainly played shortly after the first paid version released, and if noclip was enabled on a server, no one gave a shit if you used it. It was disabled by the admins or addons when you weren’t supposed to have it, like for specific maps or game modes.
This was also before just anyone could just easily host their own server though, so I guess there’s probably a lot more people who don’t know how to use the admin tools properly now.
