HubertManne , in Watching videos of people screaming "shooter on the roof" at law enforcement

I love people who think two seconds after someone yells gun a sniper is going to shoot someone. uvalde went on for hours.

Liz ,

Independent of Uvalde, it’s generally a bad idea as a sniper to just take someone else’s wors that the target you’re looking at is hostile. Kinda wanna confirm for yourself before you pull the trigger.

In this heat??? … no wonder the guy never answers his phone, he probably died of heat stroke after his third event.

Some family has a fur lined bag of organic matter, wrapped around a saxophone, stinking up the front yard in the summer sun.

FlyingSquid OP ,

I’ve been in such a costume in the Los Angeles summer. I used to work in the entertainment industry- the one that makes movies and TV shows, not the one that plays saxophones at birthday parties- but I won’t go into the details. Let’s say that it is not something that was ever worth watching.

You are correct, it’s brutal.

Too*

qjkxbmwvz ,

I always thought “so,” when used to roughly mean “thus,” should be spelled with one “o,” but when used to mean “very,” should use two. It would sort of be analogous to to/too.

And so I went to the park, but it was too hot and soo humid.

Maurizio Cattelan, if I’m not mistaken

lugal , in So does the keeper eat it?

Afaik most keepers don’t eat the ball because they don’t technically own the goal and therefore the net. It is the owner of the field who can. But it’s the self interest of the keep to keep the game playing so they won’t let the owner eat it.

This is only my impression and might be totally wrong tho

SnokenKeekaGuard OP ,
@SnokenKeekaGuard@lemmy.dbzer0.com avatar

Capitalist scum not letting keepers eat the net.

lugal ,

Keepers of the world, unite!

You have nothing to lose than some points and all the balls to win

Damage ,

Well, it wouldn’t be fair if the keepers were the only ones allowed to eat them, either… There are 20 other players.

lugal ,

But it’s the keeper who lured the ball in…

cley_faye , in Lets hit them with their own weapons

I have no experience in this, and I wasn’t there, but it sure does not looks like the kind of bleeding a bullet would do by grazing an ear. It’s probably nothing but it’s worth mentioning, you know. Just mentioning. Not implying anything.

Dude, don’t bury your uncle of he isn’t dead. That’s extremely impolite!

some_guy ,

This person is wrong. Bury him. Else how will he appreciate his casket?

BonesOfTheMoon , in *doing my best google impression* Did you mean: turn it up?

My spouse was admitted to hospital for two weeks and had several geriatric roommates. The nurse asked one of them if she knew where she was, and she yelled “IN SATAN’S ASSHOLE”.

Noodle07 ,

Oh so Texas?

chiliedogg ,

That actually isn’t even much of a stretch for Texas names. I live near the Devil’s Backbone.

Slovene ,

You live near an awesome horror movie? m.imdb.com/title/tt0256009/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_1_tt_…

chiliedogg ,

I’ll have to check it out!

I’m actually involved in the filming of a local horror movie that’s going to be truly awful.

It’s about mermaid monsters. I help coordinate some of the water work and act as the !production photographer and backup safety diver for the underwater scenes.

It’s going to be really, really bad. But it’s still fun!

Nurse here: we ask ‘orientation’ questions as part of our assessment

I had a younger patient going through the straights with hallucinations (newly diagnosed schizophrenia)… and I had been asking the same questions (as we do) a lot

So I asked them once again, “Do you know why you’re in the hospital?”. Their response: “Deez nuts!”

I always appreciate a good “Deez nuts” joke, but that one has been my favorite so far. The volition on their face and the shitty smirk; they’re completely tied down with a guard because they would occasionally be violent… but hot damn, that was a zinger.

I counted their response as oriented— they know what they did lol

BonesOfTheMoon ,

I like that so much! Deez nuts lol.

bleistift2 , in Or meet and cheese

It’s a nice feeling to fill up your shopping cart with sweets, knowing no-one can stop you.

CrowAirbrush , in Or meet and cheese

Not anymore it isn’t. I remember my parents getting a weeks worth of meats and cheese for €15 making the same wage as i do now.

I would now pay roughly 50€ for a similar selection, so no more meats and cheese because i also pay triple the rent they did for a house half the size.

No i’ll never stop complaining about it because my wage 10 years ago paid for a lovely house and allowed me to enjoy life by working out like the beast i enjoy being and now i’m left empty handed beside a load of skills that my employer deems worthless but a requirement nonetheless.

Make it make sense, because i’m certain we deserve more than what we currently get.

MystikIncarnate ,

Amen.

The wages didn’t change, but the cost of everything sure did.

This timeline sucks.
