Yes, Ulysses S. Grant was arrested for riding his horse recklessly through the streets of DC. He was arrested, fined, and released. This happened while he was president. However, since it was a minor incident in the grand scheme of things, it isn’t really a precedent to hang your hat on.
And he applauded the cop that did it, because he was right.
Of course, Grant had one of the most corrupt administrations in US governmental history, but, ya know.

Murder investigations can take years to get the person responsible on for trial even when in hindsight the evidence makes it seem obvious who did it.
This isn’t a murder obviously but it is multiple messy messy cases with lots of moving delicate parts that as people who have never done a criminal investigation can’t even imagine. I wouldn’t want to rush into a case and end up bungling it because I didn’t take my time.

The mediocre hotel we just stayed in at Niagara Falls (it was a Quality Inn. How do you know it was quality? It had a Hooters attached.) had a terrific air conditioner. Not super loud and kept the room quiet.

I’m not colorblind and it’s just not visible. Most of the country is red, and then NY/Philly area is blue. Also southern florida where the NYers live, northern Minnesota for some reason, and sparely throughout new england, all also blue. Majority of country is red but with an unexplained shading that goes from low saturation to high.
if you squint really hard there’s a white-ish area overlapping Alabama and Mississippi that looks like it might be greenish white.

Are you saying it’s impossible for this situation to happen? I’ve definitely met people that I wouldn’t put it past them. Even if this isn’t an actual news story, if just one person has ever done this, then the discussion is legitimate. And I find it very unlikely it’s never happened.

To be fair, if you ever wanna reconsider your job, ask a server how much they make. In a city with $3,600 rent, it’s not uncommon for them to average $40-60/hr. Shit, I’m ugly as fuck and live in a cheap city but usually made around $1,000/week working part time in college a few years ago.
Grew up in Georgia. My mom would refer to it as the devil beating his wife. She got it from her mom who presumably got it from her parents. I have no idea why that expression, never got an answer for that.
