raubarno ,

Or 7 days before the ‘best before’ date expires

martinb ,

There’s a best before date?

raubarno ,

That’s a good question

For sauce, yes.

For inkjet cartridges, I don’t know, but, technically speaking, these cartridges get dry after the first time of use and their ‘needles’, that spray ink, become dirty. I had a bad luck washing the spraying mechanism after that.

EDIT: I don’t know about the laserjet toners.

martinb ,

Good point! I was totally focused on the superior brown sauce

linuxgator ,

LaserJet toners are not liquid at all, so they don’t dry out. They’re just powdered plastic particles that are attracted to static electricity created by lasers on the paper and are melted to the paper with a heated drum. Aside from energy use, laserjets are far superior to inkjets.

rmuk ,

I’m calling print cartridges HP Sauce from now on. Or, I would, if I had an inkjet or a HP, but that’s showbiz baby.

For HP sauce, it’s more of a “possibly safe for human consumption before” date.

    I had to refute this argument... IRL... it was a sad day... just tell them the person who launched this nonsense has oil and coal industry ties

    EDIT: more on the subject, links to actual study inside the article: https://arstechnica.com/science/2019/01/to-fight-climate-misinformation-point-to-the-man-behind-the-curtain/

    I thought the comment you were replying to was sarcastic… but you never know.

    Khalic ,

    That's what I figured, but now you're making me doubt... ugh stupid timeline

    I was just sharing a strategy that sometimes works with this kind of dumb argument.

    Quill7513 ,

    William Jennings Bryant represented a case back in the 20s or 30s about the potential harm of anthropogenic global warming (now called climate change to try to meet science deniers in places getting cold due to changes in currents and jetstreams where they are). The science was known in the late 1800s. The exact science was known in the 1950s. The failure to act on that information is thanks in large part to corruption and greed. Anytime you hear “the science isn’t out yet” or “they didn’t use the narrow definition of the scientific method I learned in middle school in Nebraska involving a very specific structure of lab based experiment so climate science isn’t real science” you are hearing the output of nearly 80 years of not wanting to do anything about it because it would put this quarters profits at risk

    DragonTypeWyvern ,

    In the 1950’s at least they could tell themselves their kids had time to fix it.

    Wats0ns OP ,

    We hate him because he’s the creator of Wagner, a company that kills and torture peoples.

    Putin hates him because he’s the creator of Wagner, a company that’s trying to kill and torture more people than him, which is unacceptable.

    PP_BOY_ ,
    @PP_BOY_@lemmy.world avatar

    Pretty inaccurate. Putin had no problem letting the Wagnar kill more than the army in Ukraine, he killed Prigo because he led a mutiny against Moscow

    cheer ,

    Thanks for letting me know. No wonder there’ve been like 15 posts of it on the homepage

    awwwyissss ,

    Utkin, also supposedly on the plane today, founded Wagner. He was the one actually leading the march on Moscow.

    Quill7513 ,

    Lemmy hates him for doing acts of genocide. Russia hates him for doing acts of Treason

    awwwyissss ,

    Parts of the Kremlin hated him for treason, parts supported him. The Russian general who was recently fired supposedly supported Wagner, along with a number of others in the military. That’s why he took Rostov-on-Don so easily.

    FartsWithAnAccent , in We are all made of carbon
    @FartsWithAnAccent@lemmy.world avatar

    So we’re sequestering carbon.

    MxM111 ,

    Unfortunately, we are quite the opposite. We are CO2 generators.

    Deme ,

    The CO2 we breathe out is a rounding error compared to the emissions from our fossil fuel use. It’s frankly laughable to even compare the two.

    Spaghetti_Hitchens ,

    My super power is methane emission.

    MxM111 ,

    So, why do you do it then?

    Deme ,

    I didn’t bring it up. The meme posted by OP did because it’s a schizopost implying that the evil lizard people want to genocide the common people to preserve the climate.

    Your comment was talking about the fact that humans exhale CO2 as an unfortunate fact. I agree with that in and of itself, but in the context of the post one could definitely get the idea that you’re propagating the malthusian and exaggerated assumption that the meme is built on. That’s how I interpreted it.

    If there’s no people exhaling CO2, then who would be left to enjoy the infinitessimally better state of the climate?

    FartsWithAnAccent ,
    @FartsWithAnAccent@lemmy.world avatar

    I never said we were good at it.

    FartsWithAnAccent ,
    @FartsWithAnAccent@lemmy.world avatar

    Well, technically, we sequester some CO2 seeing as how we’re partially made from it but yeah, I was mostly joking.

    MxM111 ,

    Technically, we sequester zero CO2. We only consume already sequestered carbon. We do not convert even single molecule of CO2 in to carbon.

    JohnDClay ,

    Unless we have tiny amounts photosynthesizing algie or something similar living in our hair or under your skin. But that also gets into questions of what is you exactly.
