I couldn’t even get pass the login screen since I only lurked and never made an account (despite spending over a decade browsing reddit). I remember they used to let you use the app without logging in.
So what’s happening over at Reddit? I assume all is still well over there. But after ten plus years, I actually haven’t been over there since Apollo died because I’ve just been busy and scrolling here before bed instead of the old Reddit browser.
I assume it’s business as usual and it didn’t implode, but honestly it’s been like three days since I’ve been there and that’s probably one of my longer streaks without casually browsing at some point in the day.
I use wefwef and for me the scrolling is similar to Apollo and scratches the itch. I am struggling, though, with subscribing to communities and curating my feed. But also remembering my Reddit feed took years to curate so trying to be patient. I just find more hoops to jump through here to get to the content I want to view (discounting the bugginess of things because I understand it’s new and they’re sorting it out still).
Bummer there wasn’t a bigger visible hit to Reddit for their shenanigans, but I am glad that more content creators have migrated and more interesting things are also appearing in the feed I have been working on here. It is very green and clunky, but also feels fresh!
Well I tried lemmy a number of years ago and it was a ghost town. I hardly found anything I wanted to read and Reddit had it all. Now I’m back and I’ve noticed a lot more content. Others might notice too when they come to check it out. From this, I suspect we will see growth.
Sadly, due to over use and some vandalism they are now operating on a limited reservation system and shuttle to the trailhead. Above this pool is another large waterfall that comes down and feeds into these waterfalls. This area almost burned down completely during one of our worst fires in the area but it was somehow spared. The fire was the Grizzly Creek fire.
I’ve watched a bloated tourist rip a tree branch off to use as a walking stick to help propel himself up the step incline before.
Are you implying that 2 years ago, that was the only lemmy instance. Or was it only that lemmy instance (and maybe others that went down due to being hosted in the same location) that went down?
I don't know about London, but I'm one of the small percentage of Americans who have commuted regularly on a train. People have an obnoxious tendency to decide to commit suicide via being intentionally hit by a train. This stops the train and probably blocks the tracks for trains that need to pass through for some time until the police have done their thing; unlike with cars, trains can't just drive around the incident on some nearby road.
Not to mention that I imagine that it's traumatic for the train driver.
Lol, I remember when nearly everyone was talking about that, but the moral scolds were busy telling everyone they should not talk about it. One of the biggest stars, slapping one of the biggest names in comedy: no one should comment on it because something something reasons. Lol, as if.
I used to sub to new subreddit via such subreddits, or in comments of posts that showed me through a discussion. Or sidebar of subreddit on related ones.
