It’s more like “thanks and goodbye“ and maybe a little bit of “don’t you dare show your face around these parts if you know what’s good for you” sprinkled in for good measure.
You just unlocked a memory. When I was a kid there was a show called Early Edition and the guy would get tomorrow’s newspapers and he had to try to change the headline before it happened. I don’t know how I forgot about that.
People will come to work and say “oh sorry, I can’t read that since I’m not wearing my glasses” and I’m like “why would you go anywhere without glasses if you need glasses?” I just don’t understand it.
Keep in mind that depending on the type of eye issue they may not need them all the time. In this example the person only needs then to read and it might actually make their vision worse to wear them when not.
the thing is, even when they need to read something, they just squint their eyes and whine about how they can’t see without glasses then ask others to read it for them instead of idk, PUTTING ON THE DAMN GLASSES that are RIGHT ON THE FUCKING TABLE. Why did you think I said they REFUSE to wear glasses?
No, but I don’t really need to wear them inside since most of the time I don’t look at something far away enough to bother wearing glasses, because they get dirty fast and it can be hard to clean them sometimes.
It’s not that bad for me since I only need -0,75dpt and -1,00dpt
The buddy of the governor who got the contract lul. At least that’s what happened in my friends small town when they built a roundabout that took 4 years to finish for a small 4 lane intersection that had stops before on a road that got maaaaaybe 12 cars a day
You are so full of it. It’s not a fucking bike lane it just goes to the turn and disappear. This is not what bike lanes do. How much of your life is just riffing off others guesses and piling on anecdotes like this?
holy shit, i thought that was some kind of graphical overlay. that’s a bike lane!? that has to be intentional, like some kind of malicious compliance from someone who hates cyclists
Advertisements work opposite for me. If I see an ad, I hate the company. I adamantly will only choose materials based on personal research and the suggestions of my peers. Any suggestion by a corporate entity or otherwise paid method will only serve to brew hate. Beyond that, I will go to just about any means to get rid of ads. I often refuse to deal with a company if their ads show up when I don't want them to, or if their ad annoys me. There is no good ad.
Same. It’s very weird I guess. Ads just make me dislike a brand for trying so hard, or hot trying hard enough. Also mainstream stuff tends to irk me the wrong way
true that google search is littered with ads. But savvy consumers know how to do research while avoiding sponsored content and finding unbiased specs and reviews.
Looks like you’re zeroing the disk. Hard drives are faster on the outside of the platters compared to the inside because there’s more rotational velocity on the outside. Since the data is moving directly across the disk as its writing, yes, you’ll see a speed difference during this process.
I just thought about the “Duh it’s fake” comments that were slowly inching me to insanity on reddit.
Please don’t bring this over to Lemmy. Please.
80% of popular posts had a popular comment saying something is staged or fake. It’s so uninteresting, unoriginal and beating a dead horse so to say. Even for litteral movie scenes we had popular comments saying it’s staged.
Sorry for the rant and it’s not particularly for your comment. It just was a massive trend I noticed on certain subreddits. Could probably farm karma just making a bot saying some variation of “it’s fake” to every posts.
Fake text messages are like the laugh track of the internet. There are plenty of absurd things that actually happen on the Internet so having to create fake situations cheapens authentically funny situations.
Sites like 9gag are filled with these things because they are low effort ways to make an unfunny joke plausibly funny.
Here’s the thing, how are you ever going to prove that a message is real or not? Maybe there’s a way to do it, but honestly that’s more effort than anyone is going to go through.
So you land at 2 situations, either you don’t post any messages ever, or stop complaining about it being fake in the comments because some people might find it entertaining, regardless of whether it’s real or not.
