Not sure that this belongs here. Sure, some of the hypotheses are a little on the edge of possible, and there are a handful of leaps in logic, but there’s really nothing in that post that’s conspiracy or made up.
Except for all the wild, vague statements generalising our current experience on earth and coming to conclusions that don’t hold water. Sure, it’s fun to fantasize about “what if?”, but even if you genuinely can’t answer some of these questions, that doesn’t mean the answer is “secret advanced civ”.

That thread was definitely getting toxic af, specifically the troll that posted. I agree with ya’ll saying it makes sense to encourage discussion, esp on topics that’re controversial, but like go read some of that OP’s comments on that thread! They were being shitty to people just to be shitty - I think the mod made the right call for sure.

16 characters was the minimum length a password should be due to how easy it was to crack… something like a decade ago.
Now it’s something like 20 to 24 characters.
Seriously, if your company is defining maximum password length and demanding specific content, it is failing at the security game. Have the storage location accept a hashed UTF-8 string of at least 4096 bytes - or nvarchar(max) if it’s a database field - and do a bitwise complexity calculation on the raw password as your only “minimum value” requirement.
Look at how KeePass calculates password complexity, and replicate that for whatever interface you are using. Ensure that it is reasonable, such as 150-200bit complexity, and let users choose whatever they want to achieve that complexity.
I saw one for the first time last week. It had like a weird brownish tint to it, I’m not sure if that was the lighting or metal discoloration or what but they are ugly AF in person.

I see like 10 a day. I work in an enclave city for the uberrich where the average new home being built costs what I make in a century (and I make pretty good money money), so we’ve got lots of them.
I’ve seen a bunch getting paint jobs. The matte black ones look like what scifi Nazi gestapo would drive, but all of the paint jobs look better than the bare metal. There’s a brushed-gunmetal one that I think is a pretty attractive compared to the rest. The vehicle is still ugly, but it’s less-ugly with a good paint job.
Which is stupid, because it was just reading the first few rows of it, but annoying that was 30 years ago and I still fucking remember it. I can’t even remember what I did yesterday. Fucking head full of nonsense.
I adore horses. Had them for most of my childhood. I wanted to get back into it because I knew it’d be good for my mental health. I’m doing this 100% for my own sanity lol. I work a high stress job, so hanging out with the horses is the ultimate way for me to relax. The people are cool, too. I don’t know many of them yet, though.
True trash-tier software and hardware. Last year I was having trouble with frequently dropped packets from my office computer. I thought it was a Spectrum issue until I tore everything out and started testing all my ports (modem, router, wall ports, etc). I FINALLY narrowed it down to the relatively new TP-Link dumb router I bought. I threw that piece of trash in the garbage.
