To be fair, as a democrat, I generally view conservative voters as easily-misled people - essentially “dumb,” I view conservative leaders as thugs trying to overthrow America, and I view conservative corporate heads as ruling class elites. When you’re using such an overarching term as “Conservative” or “Left” it comes with the unsaid caveat that there are many subgroups that can differ greatly from one another.
I don’t know how anyone wants to self identify as a conservative whose platform is currently:
The dumbest with Donald Trump slurring and stumbling over his speeches
The thugs trying to overthrow America with “Project 2025”, war on WOKENESS, book burning and being anti-choice
The constant meddling of oil companies, cable companies, news companies into what information we get - along with dark money getting funneled to politicians to suddenly say moronic shit like “we can’t take gov money to feed school children”

The conservative voters I know all stand for one thing: stubbornness. They make a decision to do something, they do it until they die, and they take great pride in doing so.
It’s essentially vikings if, instead of needing to die in battle to get to Valhalla, you needed to die of an easily-preventable disease because you never got that weird lump checked out, because if you’d admitted you had a problem you’d be weak, which is worse than death.
Now you’re reminding me of my uncle and his multiple hernias. He waited for years to get them taken care of because he didn’t want to have to deal with the recovery time.
I live in a very conservative neighborhood and can say that stubbornness seems to play a huge, huge part of it. But I also wouldn’t discount the insecurity that plays into a lot of conservative men as well. The kind that buys huge trucks, just to commute to an office job. The kind that tries overly hard to impress you in weird “manly” ways, like always having a beer in their hand when they know you’re coming over for something.
Basically half the guys around here are either stubborn dickheads who do things like refuse to tell their wives when they’re going out of town for work - and the other half are dudes constantly trying to validate their manhood by projecting a flimsy aura of toughness. Frankly, it’s exhausting.
Sorry, that was a very personal reference to a neighbor of mine. He does it all the time, so she’ll do stuff like make dinner and then he just doesn’t come home. When she texts him to find out if he’s working late, he’ll be like “I had to fly to Montana for work.”
He’s the most stereotypical stubborn Republican that I can imagine. He considers himself a libertarian because he doesn’t want to pay taxes for pesky things like roads and schools. But he also has very strong feelings that women shouldn’t be able to get abortions, which shouldn’t really jive with the small government thing. He’s a solid red voter down ballot every election.
This reminds me of a coworker I had who used to call the Department of natural resources and try to convince the poor clerk that he shouldn’t have to pay for a fishing license for him and his wife because gay people have the right to get married. I still don’t understand the logic on that but that’s what I overheard.

Nah. I have friends that are alcoholics and this guy ain’t one. But a beer in his hand and a giant truck in the driveway might make you think he’s a blue collar bad ass instead of a skinny nerdy engineer.
If you think about, this makes the most sense. A person with an OF is getting their rocks off without other people present most of the time. Unless they are doing content with someone who enjoys making stuff too. But I think the majority of content creators are solo ventures.
In that most common scenario you would have a person not comfortable making content dating someone who does. That relationship is going to end eventually when OF creator is getting their sexual needs met and the SO isn’t getting enough attention to satisfy their needs.
But of course there will always be outliers like asexual people or having opposite libidos. Which those situations might work great to have an OF side gig.
But if we are talking the majority or people, I think its safe to say one OF creator dating a non-OF creator is probably not very likely.
OF content creators date non-creators all the time, just like other sex workers. There’s more to relationships than sex, and content creation isn’t the same thing as actual sexual intimacy and connection

No, those are usually embedded into the video itself as a segment by the content creator. However, SponsorBlock works really well and will automatically skip those bits for you (assuming someone else already put in the effort to mark the sponsored content).
Which they usually already have. I’m surprised how quickly even small channels get sponsor blocked. It makes me kind of sad because I wanna contribute too, but it’s hard to find video that haven’t been edited

I swear you guys are watching videos made by low-quality people. I get ads, sure, but nothing I would find excessive or annoying. The only time I run into too many ads is on specific channels, and I don’t stick around long when it becomes clear this creator is plastering their video with ads.
I mean, are you expecting strangers entertain you for free? Are you expecting the video host to operate as a charity? If you pay for the service, I’m just as mad as you are, but if it’s free, someone has to pay for it somehow.
Don’t give a fuck. I’m blocking the ads. If they want money out of me they’ll have to find another way of getting it. I pay money to Patreons and streaming services I value. Google is spying on me for money. If they can’t make that work they can all fuck off. Nobody has permission to subject me to mental abuse.
uBlock Origin doesn’t always block YouTube’s new pop-ups, and I actually have grown used to not having stuff synced to my Google account. I like it. I don’t have to worry as much about Google tracking my viewing history.
Edit: Also, besides, it doesn’t support the newest YouTube app version for non-rooted devices.
I feel like YouTube has gone back to normal now. I used to need to update uBlock (origin) manually few times a day but I haven’t needed to do that for weeks now.
YouTube keeps buffering and skipping short sections of videos for me on PC with uBlock origin. I’m so confused since apparently AdBlock Plus which I don’t use was responsible for the whole buffering thing and now I’m here and wondering wtf is wrong with my setup
Yeah my videos sometimes skips forward a few seconds aswell but it doesn’t happen often enough to be an issue. Assuming you have other extensions disabled for youtube and if you’re on FIrefox; remember to also turn off the enhanced tracking protection for YouTube (shield icon at the address bar while you have youtube open)
I do have Firefox although on LibreWolf I didn’t experience those problems a few weeks ago. Thanks I’ll check! I also have Enhancer for YouTube as a plugin so I can set custom speeds etc for videos but I disabled its ad blocker and use ublock for that. Wasn’t a problem on Librewolf either but I’ll try to look into it. Thanks!
Well I did get the warning several times while using Firefox + uBlock Origin and I had to manually go update the “quick fixes” filters in order to get it to work again. I did have other add-ons for YouTube aswell but no other adblockers.
