One time I was so broke that I smashed my gel deodorant with a hammer to get to the last of it that wouldn’t come out by twisting the dispenser wheel. Then I used my hands to apply the gel for a few days to get me through to pay day.
I was watching the show Good Times about the struggle of poor black family. But after some episodes I felt it wasn’t realistic and the family isn’t really poor.
My family used to do that, but mostly because they were penny pinchers. Like we had money to buy toothpaste, they just wanted to save it for some nebulous reason. They also paradoxically used up a fuck ton of toothpaste every brush and that’s why they ran out so often. I just used a pea-worth and managed to stretch it out
I mean people using libraries for the most part don’t really understand the decimal system and probably wouldn’t get the significance of it being in the 000s - especially the 000s where it’s sandwiched between computer science and knowledge structure & other general works. When I’m compelled to aquire a bs book in any category, simply because patron demand is high, I prefer it be in the same section as factual information so it may be drowned out a little more. (And I say aquire, instead of purchase, since those types of books I try to rent so they can be returned after it’s been taken out by those requesting it and it never makes its way into our full collection)

I never got why people get so bent out of shape from people squeezing from the middle when it only takes a couple of seconds to force it all towards the nozzle.
Pokemon fans were so desperate for any kind of innovation instead of the same game over and over and over with worse pokemon designs. At this point the ai ripoffs feel more like pokemon than actual pokemon. An ice cream cone? Ice cube head penguin? Really gamefreak?
It is crazy. Not to mention all of the other attempts at the Pokémon “formula” have mostly just rehashed it. Cassette Beasts is the first I saw that really made some changes… And even they were slight. Digimon and Shin Megami Tensei are quite different but they’ve also been around for yonks.
It is better to conceptualize political allegiance by which ideology they support: socialism, social capitalism, liberal capitalism, or fascist capitalism.
