I have a stance. It happens to conflict with both of you clowns. You’re all acting like I have to take the package deal when I’m only interested in Internet. Fuck that nonsense. I want the right to bear arms and have an abortion. Let the gays do whatever they like, but why are they mimicking a religion which says they’re bad? I want higher tax brackets for the ultra wealthy and domestic spending for 3rd places, but I also think it’s a good idea to have our crazy army money because China specifically wants world domination.
Absolutely NONE of this is “central” or “middle ground” because there is not a fucking polarity to the subjects!
You’re all idiots banging your heads together over stupid shit the ultra rich make up to keep you fucking busy! YOU blind idiots are why we can’t have nice things!
This comment screams “I am extremely confident in my own intelligence and have never once listened to a word anyone else has ever said. Bow down to me!”
“I have a stance. It happens to conflict with both of you clowns.”
-okay, let’s see it.
“You’re all acting like I have to take the package deal when I’m only interested in Internet. Fuck that nonsense.”
-nobody is saying you have to pick a niche view, but views tend to have intersectionality. Ie, antiracists also tend to be anti-transphobia and anti-fascist, because they all come from a similar moral outlook.
“I want the right to bear arms and have an abortion.”
-So do most leftists.
“Let the gays do whatever they like, but why are they mimicking a religion which says they’re bad?”
-gay people are not mimicking a religion in any way, that’s absurd. Pride is about visibility and protection, if that’s what you’re calling a “religion.”
“I want higher tax brackets for the ultra wealthy and domestic spending for 3rd places, but I also think it’s a good idea to have our crazy army money because China specifically wants world domination.”
-so do most leftists. Even if your take on the military is at odds with many leftists, the rest of your views are fairly leftist.
“Absolutely NONE of this is “central” or “middle ground” because there is not a fucking polarity to the subjects!”
-Not necessarily middle ground, just generally ill-informed, given your belief that gay people are mimicking religion.
“You’re all idiots banging your heads together over stupid shit the ultra rich make up to keep you fucking busy! YOU blind idiots are why we can’t have nice things!”
-That’s a firmly leftist position, saying that the rich are dividing the Proletariat against itself to stay in power. That’s not even close to a right wing position.
There you go, firmly answered. You’re a leftist, but one who probably hasn’t actually read theory or taken the time to analyze their own views. I think reading what other leftists have written about leftism might be fantastic for helping you come to terms with your own views and help you understand them better, but that’s your choice to make.
I’m not about to vote in someone who wants to disarm me just because they’re on my side for a couple of topics. The fact of the matter is that I don’t believe in representation. Direct democracy is the only way to actually get to conclusions.
I swear when Wikipedia was a Wild West and weird edits stayed up for a long time there was an entry on the Conway Twitty article that described a story about a man who was divorcing a woman who was just a terrible person. He ended up walking out of their house with nothing but came back only for his Conway Twitty records.
That story always stuck with me and made me appreciate the impact Conway had.
The onshore tax havens Delaware, Wyoming, and Nevada are vastly worse in scope than any offshore country. They push the narrative about those “terrible foreign countries” to distract us from this fact.
The problem is US tax code, not offshore financial centers.
Debatable, but the common consensus is that T-Rex had little to no feather. At the very least, the feathers couldn’t have covered all of the body because T-Rex skin imprints have been found without feathers, tho they’re not of all the skin, so there still may have been some feathered parts.
The idea that T-Rex had feathers didn’t come from nowhere tho : We have many evidence of feathered dinosaurs from many groups. The T-Rex is niched within the coelurosauria clade, which includes many dinosaurs that are mostly covered in feathers (and even modern birds). There’s even a close relative of T-Rex, Yutyrannus, with evidence of wide feather covering.
The reason why T-Rex didn’t have that much feathers is likely the same reason why elephants aren’t hairy : Big animals have less problem keeping heat, and may even at some point have problem evacuating excess heat (and yes, many dinosaurs were warm blooded). So as T-Rex got bigger, feathers became more of a hindrance.
I’ve heard that they might’ve been covered in feathers as children, but didn’t grow any more as they got older, so they’d be spread out, not covering much, which is also how it works with elephants and hair.
What does that have to do with seeing if the gameplay looks fun? I mean, I suppose they could recommend some YouTube “let’s play” videos instead, but either way, watching someone play the game in a contiguous timeline is probably the best way to see if it looks fun.
Left wing and right wing are like political vibes. They only make sense when you have more understanding of what the issues are. What they mean can change over time.
I think it’s easier to understand what the individual issues are and why people want them or don’t want them. Then you need to figure out what your ideology is and pick what things you want to support to further your political goals.
Political “debates” are useless, but I always like to watch different conceptions from different countries.
When I see USA politics right-wingers have some speeches and actions that left-wingers have in my home country and vise-versa.
Like, leftwingers in my country usually attack a former rightwing president because he supposedly fomented immigration, specially illegal immigration. (Although, here rigwingers also have more hate against the inmigrant, just like US) 1 (sorry for the language, didn’t find an english version of it)
Or a former leftwing president that mobilized our army to Haiti to protect their democracy 2
Same with labels: In US “liberal” is a left wing label, in my country is a righ wing one.
Same apply in other countries, like I see Spanish news when “republicans” are the radical ones, usually left-wing, because they oppose monarchy, and the “republican” flag is a left-wing symbol for spaniards.
That’s why political labels are pretty useless too. Republican means literal nazi or revolutionary against monarchy depending where you are lol.
Some people enjoy walking on the wings of passenger planes. For some reason Americans are really hostile about which wing is better to stand on while in flight.
It’s actually a pretty good metaphor. People sitting on the left side and the right side of the plane are actually taking a seat whereas people sitting in the aisle are just in the fucking way.
my biggest pet peeve in the world is when people equate liberalism (a right-wing ideology) with the left, solely because the american baseline is so far right compared to europe. the closest shot the US have had of pivoting to proper left-wing is bernie sanders (at least as far as i’m aware, and i’m too scared of further rotting my brain by consuming more american politics)
When i was a kid, there was this lady who lived on my way to school. Dhe had a nice, fenced garden and two huge dogs and like 10 geese. I was never scared of the dogs, vut the geese were vicious. Sometimes they were on the lose and my way home turned into a survival horror game. They never stopped chasing. Dometimes i took some bread with me to throw and run away. One day they were chasing me i ran like a motherfucker around a corner and threw my last breaf. there was this young family with two little kids, and i was so relieved, because that was an easy way to lose them and at the same time i hoped that they were good runners. I honestly don't even know what would've happend if they ever caught me and i'm glad i never found out. I really miss these fuckers.
If they know that the gallinoansera clade had already emerged before the K-T extinction, they most likely also know about birds being dinosaurs. Specifying “non-avian” everytime is a pain and saying “K-T extinction” is not understood by all, no need to correct them for semantics when their wording gets the point across.
Ah, I didn’t know more modern versions of the VST standard specified a Linux interface. I thought, they were still just basically EXEs with some metadata attached.
VST is native and actually better for the CPU in the SurgeXT case. I also use it in LV2, and now I’ve all my projects that needs a conversion from that, maybe I could compile the 1.2 version from source; I don’t know but it’s annoying ¢_¢ [edit] Oh yeah, I’ve found it here so I can save my presets! archive.archlinux.org/packages/s/
There’s also a CLAP version available, if you use a daw that supports CLAP (like REAPER (which you should totally use btw (it’s like the emacs of daws if emacs actually ran faster than everything else)))
