Proton 8 and up not working with Nvidia?
Hello! I’ve tried a bunch of games but they’re just not able to start on proton/wine/GE proton version 8 and up. If I switch back to proton 7 they’re working fine. Has anyone else experienced this? Does anyone have a solution. Also softwares that don’t require GPU work fine too with version 8.
Another post for not using systemd
Before anything else, I would like to say that I admit systemd has brought great change to GNU/Linux. sysvinit wasn’t the best, and custom scripts for every distro is a pain I’d rather not have....
Wacom graphical drawing tablet, wayland, sway.

Do I need to run "rootless docker" even if my containers have "cap_drop" set to ALL? [Docker]
Title. Just curious since apparently cap_drop=all means that the container “can’t do a thing” (?). Root users are (also) included in this (?). That’d be great if someone could enlighten me on this topic....

Waydroid/Weston start and stop script for Mint and others
In order to get an Android-only app working on a desktop computer I installed Weston and Waydroid which worked, but as I (and the target machine) run Mint 21 it’s not as simple as just running Waydroid and having it work, plus there is no way to close out Waydroid from within itself. In order to make it easier to start and...

Is there a Qt equivalent of XFCE?
was just a quick question – on the GTK side of things, we have the progression of LXDE → XFCE → Gnome – but on the Qt side of things, with LXQT → ??? → Plasma, there’s kind of a missing middle option?

Best way to sell a domain?

Problem with CD audio
Last month I upgraded my computer with new parts. I kept my old DVD drive that I mainly use to rip CDs. I have now however run into an issue that has stumped me. When I tried to rip some used CDs I bought the resulting FLACs had a terrible crackle, making them unlistenable. So I started looking into the issue and tried different...
Do you know any good JRPGs with engaging gameplay similar to SMT?
I normally find turn-based combat really boring but I find Shin Megami Tensei games so engrossing in part due to the combat. You need to pay attention to mechanics and properly prepare for each boss fight if you want to overcome them. It’s not about just gathering enough exp. Do you know any games similar to SMT when it comes...

Any real benefit to enabling Multi-Gen LRU?
In case you don’t know Multi-Gen LRU is an alternative LRU implementation that optimizes page reclaim and improves performance under memory pressure. Page reclaim decides the kernel’s caching policy and ability to overcommit memory. It directly impacts the kswapd CPU usage and RAM efficiency....
