Get Fedora Silverblue. It is rock solid. Install Distrobox or Boxes to emulate other systems on top of that.

You could also move on to something else later if toy like.

Taste as you go and taste everything! Understanding how the components of your meal taste is a great way to make yummy things. It also helps you learn how ingredients manifest in the end result and will help you expand your cooking versatility

lnm225 , to youshouldknow in YSK: If you make popcorn in a pot on the stove, the oil to use is ghee.

smacks forehead

That is a great idea! Coconut oil was ok,but kinda odd-flavored for popcorn …

acupofcoffee ,

Since ghee is so expensive, I usually do coconut oil and ghee mixed!

I love ghee on my stovetop popcorn! A wok works great!

deviant ,

Dude, my mom makes ghee out of milk. It costs literally nothing

BaroqueInMind ,
@BaroqueInMind@kbin.social avatar

That's not true because you still have to buy the milk.

Not if you’re a mom 😉

xuxebiko ,

to make ghee at home costs lots of milk, time, and effort. Try making ghee yourself from cratch and you'll know exactly how much it really costs.

SexualPolytope , to piracy in Are most of you using Torrents or Usenet?
@SexualPolytope@lemmy.sdf.org avatar

Torrents. I don’t really find Usenet worth the money. I can get most of the stuff I want on public sites. Some others I can get on private trackers. Never really felt the need to use Usenet. And as others have pointed out, the arr apps work great with torrents.

And honestly, I find it a little scummy to pay for content to people who don’t own them. I don’t think piracy in itself is unethical, but I if you take money for stolen content, that’s not cool in my book.

void , to gaming in Diablo IV has been disappointing so far

I also enjoyed it far less than I wanted to. Re: Your 2nd point : I find this really funny as I just started a sorc the other day and one my first reactions was how terrible the spell animations look for a modern game. I’ve been tempted to re-install Diablo 3 just to compare them, as I remember them being much better.

I finished the campaign as a Druid and am now tinkering with the other classes, so nowhere near endgame, all my feedback is just from the above.

  • The writing is bad, laughably bad. Not like, bad grammar or sloppy prose bad but just like…written by a really edgy teenager and then heavily edited by adults who weren’t allowed to change any of the actual plot points bad? There were some good ideas (trying to avoid spoilers), but (for me) none of them ever went anywhere. And there were so many just…dumb/silly things…nevermind all the cutscenes rendered with the games engine that look laughably bad/amateur compared to Blizzard games like…what is going on with those??
  • D3 items were a hot mess of garbage compared to D2 and I think these might be a tiny bit better, but still seem overly messy and the mod pool is too big. I also don’t think I found a “real” unique yet? They all seem like RNG trash just there for the aspects to be extracted? I could be wrong here, maybe the real uniques come later but if so that’s (more) bad design imho.
  • frequent lag
  • agree on the automap. Quest interface also seems poorly designed and very frustrating to use.
  • the whole thing feels aggressively like a console game ported to PC, not vice versa. I strongly dislike that in my PC games.

FWIW, I’m enjoying playing my sorc more than the druid, but we’ll see. By the last 2 acts, I could close my eyes and hold two buttons and kill any of the bosses (except the last boss where you have move 3-4 times).

Hi! Thanks for featuring our little Now Lemmy Explain community here. !nowlemmyexplain

So, Lemmy soapbox a little bit:

I’ve felt that /r/eli5 was some of the best content in the Old Country, but somewhere along the way, it lost the fun aspect it once had. Everything there is so sanitized that it no longer has the feeling of community anymore.

In the age of large language models, getting a simplified summary of a complex idea is pretty much just a copypaste away, and I don’t really see the need of having a place for what ELI5 currently is when it can be automated away, but I’m willing to admit that I may be wrong.

My ultimate goal would be having a place for people to explain things that would not be possible for machines, it should be entertaining to read instead of making your eyes glaze over, because first and foremost, on Lemmy, we are rebuilding a place for specifically people to get engaged and inspired by each other, because that’s what a community is.

There’s overlap between NSQ here and NLE of course, but I think the best way to explain it (or, Now Lemmy Explain: ) is that NSQ focuses on getting any answer to simple questions, while NLE focuses on getting simple answers to any question.

So, if you have any topic you’d like to have explained, please make a post there, and we’ll all try our best.

pay attention. stay with what you are cooking as you are cooking it. don’t let yourself become distracted. taste as you go. take notes. use unsalted butter. know your equipment and its pros/cons. shop at different stores for the best ingredients. fresh herbs are waaay better if you can swing it.

I’m not sure that you really need to. It’s the hot topic of the moment for obvious reasons, but it’ll die down soon enough. Just needs a little time.
