my impression is that grapheneos is only private and secure compared to regular android. likewise, any linux distro is going to be secure and private when compared to windows.
Sure, but graphene OS just has some really thoughtful privacy focused features, and I’m looking for a Linux distro that would have similar features if there is such a thing.
One thing I love about graphene is by default, the MAC address is randomized for every single connection. Also, the Bluetooth can be set to time out and turn off after a certain period of not being used.
Yes please, I don’t care for that place and I’m not interested in what’s going on either. Unless they are going bankrupt and closing down I’m avoiding those threads.
I always went over to a neighbors to play Super Mario World on his Super Nintendo as a kid. Folks bought me a PS1 for christmas not too long after that and basically decided that was going to be the last console they’d buy me so I’d go over to my friends places to play on their Gamecube and PS2s. My first paycheck I got working a summer job was used to buy a PS2 .
Votes counts seem to always be in a state of syncing/flux. The vote counts on personal instance are always significantly different than on lemmy.world.
My PDF/A documents contain all kinds of content, including text and images. To me, it doesn’t matter what format the encoded images are, as long as I can open them 20 years from now. Why would one care one way or another?
I care that the text remains readable (both to me and also software) and that I don’t balloon my storage out of control.
JPEG (even at higher levels) subjectively degrades text in particular to a degree that I worry about the former and PNG makes me worry about the latter.
My current plan is to go with the latter since storage is a relatively cheap issue to fix while data loss is pretty much permanent.
