Tbh there’s lots of stuff in the Barbie movie that I would consider timeless, especially the feminist aspects of it. What parts of the movie do you think applies to the 2020s but doesn’t apply to, say, 1990 or 1960?
EDIT: I may have interpreted this comment too pessimisticly-- this question is about the future, not the past. Maybe, hopefully, societal views on gender will change in the future enough that the Barbie movie will become outdated
Thanks for the Anton Petrov recommendation. I’ve been looking for better up to date science reviews, and I was getting sick of the Two Minute Papers channel with its near-constant shilling for Nvidia and OpenAI.
For me, a daily thing I do is sit in my grandmothers armchair, and put my feet up on a small table that also belonged to her, with my laptop on my lap. I realise that sitting is not a super exciting task, but I guess sitting draped in the unconditional love of your deceased grandma’s possessions makes it sound a bit better.
There is Komikku for linux though it's kinda limited to sources it supports. Komga is a nice self hosted option with support for Mihon and all the tachiyomi forks for android. There is a tachiyomi fork called Komikku (different from the linux app) that I like.
Finally, someone asking the questions that really matter!
My favorite is Piccolo. I liked Piccolo Daimaoh in DB, he made a good villain but his offspring, the Piccolo that carried on to DBZ, I fell in love with that character. The design is great, the personality, and all his arc until the Cell saga. Sadly he quickly falls into the background after that.
I know he gets the orange version nowadays but I haven’t checked out the movie or manga for that matter. I’m not a fan of the 3d style art for the franchise at least not for animation media.
Also my choice for best character. Watching him develop from enemy, to rival, to friend, to eventually mentoring and becoming a second dad to Gohan was great.
And yeah, it’s a shame that he eventually becomes fairly irrelevant as the story goes on (like most of the non-saiyan fighters)
Also, hot water heat works differently than steam, and many steam systems have been converted to hot water, so it’s not easy to know just by looking at a radiator.
As other people have said, let the maintenance folks handle it. They know the system.
Teach this to your manager: At the beginning of a task, uncertainty is highest. Under no circumstances should you give an estimate in ‘man-hours’. Even days is too precise. The first estimate should be in months or years (of course depending on the size of the project). Then, as your insight into the project grows, you refine that to months, then weeks, later days. A vague estimate with a lower and a higher bound is way more useful to your manager than a ridiculously ‘precise’ but highly speculative number.
This lesson was brought to you by either “Code Complete 2” or “Rapid Development” by Steve McConnel, and by my former manager who wanted projects estimated in minutes.
It’s a closed circuit. When you’re bleeding out air the pressure in the system drops. When there’s no sufficient pressure the water wont reach the upper floors.
Under normal circumstances the system is bled of air once and then they add more water untill the optimal pressure is reached and that’s it. You shouldn’t need to bleed air or add water ever again. The fact that you keep bleeding it indicates that new air is introduced somehow. Usually this means there’s a leak and someone keeps topping it up with fresh water which contains air that then need to be bled out again.
Alternatively the issue could also be non-plumbers like yourself who keep bleeding the radiators on their own and then the maintenance keeps adding more water and wondering why the pressure always drops again. In my part of the world it’s forbidden for the residents to bleed their radiators for this very reason.
Also, the radiator lines are usually steel. The reason they don’t rust is lack of oxygen. Now with constantly more water and thus air being added to the system the corrosion keeps on advancing.
I like the stremio app with the torrentio extension, it’s really easy to use, and with your stremio account you can keep track of the movies and series you watch
the issue is that without a debrid provider, which you have to pay for, many series and movies aren’t seeded, so more obscure media is less likely to work
The obscure content thing is an issue I’ve run into especially looking for ~70s era sci-fi or horror movies that are regarded as cult classics or underrated online.
Ugh you’re probably right, it’s going to be our generation’s DMC DeLorean. The vehicle itself will age poorly, but slap it in a BTTF reboot in five years and it’ll fit right in
People are finding them cool now. Useless, overpriced pieces of junk used as trophies to a rich mans poor ego… but distinctive enough that it might change future car designs.
Look at what the USPS bought with their new fleet of postal trucks.
My favorite character is Goku from original DB. IMO he got dumber and dumber as the series went on, and he lost his original character a bit too. DBZ is cool and all but original DB was on another level.
It’s funny. When I was much younger, I disdained DB and preferred DBZ because it was more “serious” or something. Now I find DB, with it’s focus on adventures over fights and relatively lower stakes, to be far more entertaining. It’s also generally much funnier.
Me thinking this was about getting frustrated at subpar artwork or crafts of my own creation but no, you really mean my own existence.
No, I don’t feel that way. I never had a problem knowing my parents had sex and that I’m the product of that. Sorry for your case, I see others giving much better advice already so I’ll leave it at that.
