Donald Trump is holding a rally on Thursday in a rented hall in my hometown, Tucson. I would prefer to ignore that sad fact. But since the building has my name on it. I need to say something.
It saddens me to see the former President bring his hate show to Tucson, a town with deep Mexican-American roots and a joyful. tolerant spirit.
I don’t just deplore his toxic politics, his hatred of women. immigrants and people of color, his criminality, dishonesty and ignorance although there’s that.
For me it comes down to this: In Nogales and across the southern border, the Trump Administration systematically ripped apart migrant families seeking asylum. Family separation made orphans of thousands of little children and babies, and brutalized their desperate mothers and fathers. It remains a humanitarian catastrophe that Physicians for Human Rights said met the criteria for torture.
There is no forgiving or forgetting the heartbreak he caused.
Trump first ran for President warning about rapists coming in from Mexico. I’m worried about keeping the rapist out of the White House.

P.S. to J.D. Vance:
I raised two adopted children in Tucson as a single mom. They are both grown and living in their own houses. I live with a cat. Am I half a childless cat lady because I’m unmarried and didn’t give birth to my kids? Call me what you want, but this cat lady will be voting proudly in November for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz.
Friendly reminder that we have already identified and largely fixed a climate change problem, the depletion of the Ozone layer, and we can fix other problems too:
The Montreal Protocol is considered the most successful international environmental agreement to date. Following the bans on ozone-depleting chemicals, the UN projects that under the current regulations the ozone layer will completely regenerate by 2045, thirty years earlier than previously predicted.
My setup is pretty simple. I use static DNS on my router, which points my jellfin domain to the local address when on my LAN, and I set up DHCP to point my devices to use my router for DNS. It’s incredibly simple, so all I do is type in my jellyfin domain and it works optimally wherever I am.
I actually had my internet go out for a couple hours and we were able to watch our content just fine.
I spend the entire game prepping for the boss. Just because I can ohko every other ship the moment I land doesn’t mean I can touch the beast. I’ve done the last sector without taking a hit just to never even get past the shields in phase 1
I think that’s my main complaint with the game. Once you find a way to beat the boss, you just go for that build every time. It’s so punishing and the path to get there is so long, that it’s a massive disincentive to try new things.
That's a good example. You simply can't grasp optimal choices or know possible events and outcomes before going through it a great deal of times, and it's likely that you'll get killed too fast to experience much if you start on normal. You definitely end up switching to normal as you improve, learn, and unlock, but it really benefits and smoothens the learning curve to start easier.
And once the game has become a breeze, with 100% of your runs being a success, install the Captain’s Edition mod and suddenly, it’s a pleasantly challenging title again. The add-on that turns it into an endless game in particular is so good, I spent dozens of hours playing it.
Personally, I am playing Dragon Age: Origins and Dragon Age 2 on easy. They come from an era where if you aren’t suffering through it then you must really suck. Personally, I don’t have time to fight the same boss for an hour only to die when he gets down to the last 5% and start over again, I only get a few hours after work to game. However, the story is honestly pretty good, and I recommend them - if you play on easy.
