From my POV, I would say you are good. The dangerous blue and black wire are covered and yellow-green being exposed is not an issue. If you only have responsible persons in the house, you can turn it on without issues. You could also tape card board over it if you want to.

But keep in mind I’m not an electrician and give only my layman’s POV.

Mandy OP ,

im the only person in the house and i am not responsible

for real tho, as someone else said, ill be getting some electrical tape and cover the remaining cable up

fuckwit_mcbumcrumble ,

In America we love our wire nuts. Capping off a loose cable is the only acceptable use of a wire nut to me.

I mean as long as they are in a wago connector and the earth wire has no chance to accidentally slip into one of the wagos there should be 0 risk. (Not a certified electrician, but a hobbyist)

It’s not difficult but I really enjoyed Super Liminal. Very short but fun.

Can’t wait to play this in two years when Sony lets me, as long as it doesn’t require some kind of DRM like a PSN login.

viral.vegabond ,

so, never?

ampersandrew ,
@ampersandrew@lemmy.world avatar

Maybe not. If that’s the case, I’ll live. They’ve brought their past PC releases to GOG until very recently, so if they see sales drop off, they might continue to do that or relax the PSN requirement. We’ll see.

viral.vegabond ,

One can hope, I suppose.

RightHandOfIkaros , to nostupidquestions in Can i safely turn the power on on this open outlet? if not, how do i solve this? (solved)

Is there a reason you need to turn the breaker on for that circuit? Is it connected to a circuit like your kitchen or something?

In my opinion, if you aren’t an electrician and can leave that circuit off until your friend or whoever can look at it, then just leave that circuit off. That is the safest approach.

Otherwise,so long as the wires are not touching and the black and blue wires are capped off and not touching bare metal, in theory you should be okay. Again, this is theoretical, it is possible that there may be something that I cannot see or think of that may cause a house fire by turning that circuit back on.

Ideally use a VPN with port forwarding (like AirVPN or Mullvad) so you can properly seed :)

Don’t you laugh about this. I think it was in CIV5. I just built my first planes and started a completely unprovoked attack on a neighbouring state that didn’t even made it into the Middle Ages. I watched in horror when bunch of fucking legionnaires with spears took down one of my planes.

Never underestimate monkey.

gravitas_deficiency , to linux in How can we make Linux more appealing as "just works"?

Atomic OSes should be evangelized more aggressively to laypersons. IMO, they’re great for 3 specific use cases:

  • gaming (bazzite) - personally, I want my gaming box to “just work”
  • thin clients/low-powered laptops used as an entry point to your homelab or other remote systems - again, I like having at least one fairly bulletproof and super stable system to use as a human:homelab gateway/admin machine
  • non-techies. If the update fails, just roll back. Can’t remember if that’s generally an automated recovery process or not, but that sort of idiot-proofing is precisely what the general public needs in the context of Linux. Because there are a lot of idiots out there.
BlueSquid0741 ,

Absolutely. Look at Aeon. I turn it on and do what I need to do.

Later I might see a quick pop up that says system has been updated. It didn’t require intervention. It didn’t even tell me it was happening, it just informed me after the fact.

If anything broke, I would never know because on the next boot if something failed it just uses the previous snapshot to boot. As far as I am concerned the system is working just like it always has.

But even as recently as this week I see people saying: immutable? No don’t make it a bad experience for them! Just recommend Ubuntu for newcomers! >:/

Aphelion , to games in Is Elder Scrolls 6 doomed to fail? I can't see how it will work

I think the long-term sales of the games you just cited is at odds with your opinions. At this point, Bethesda has made a name for themselves with janky, bug-riddled games with big story, that excel at giving the players a feeling agency. At this point that is Bethesda’s brand image and they seem to be just going with it. Like why would they bother spending more money to fix bugs and exploits that have become a signature to a lot of people? Also it’s costs them less to leave their titles unpolished and let the modders fix it.

Virkkunen ,
@Virkkunen@fedia.io avatar

I agree with everything you said but to talk about Starfield, I think it even failed to be a Bethesda game. If their gimmick is to drop the ball, with Starfield they didn't even pick up the ball first to be able to drop it.

I'm not hopeful at all for TES6 and I'm a diehard TES fan, unless some major changes happen internally (and no, the engine is not the problem, it's who's developing in it and who's directing it all).
