Politicians are doing nothing for any normal people. They cater for those who contribute to their campaigns in a way that makes them remeberable - usually not normal people.
Seems that people have been persuaded to vote against their own self interests for too long. Maybe they should try to be informed about this issue, and vote.
Lemmy in general is developed and maintained by Communists, for starters. FOSS in general, especially FOSS social media, is a Leftist answer to already existing Capitalist Social Media.
There are right-wing instances like Exploding Heads, which is a Nazi instance, but they are defederated from every major instance.
My grandpa had developed the habit of falling out of his bed. The first time I was afraid that he was gonna die on the spot as I’d heard it, but it eventually became such a “regular” occurrence that I didn’t think of immediate death anymore. This particular day, he’d fallen twice. They brought him to a nearby hospital to get a check-up. I was worried sick that this time something was actually wrong, or that he might’ve broken a bone or something. Turns out he was fine! No broken bones or anything. Just one teeny tiny minor issue…
When he was brought to the hospital, he was accidentally placed in the area with people who were brought there with covid. I hadn’t been able to see him in months because of the restrictions, and even when I did go the months prior it was always with far distance, masks and in short bursts. I did everything I had been told to do to “keep him safe”, “ease up the workload in the hospitals” and all those government campaigns and all that, only for him to die because of this (seeming) serious neglect from medical professionals.
I wished they won’t do shit. But in reality, they actively harm young people in their attempt of buying a home. E.g. I don’t know if it is something that exists in the us but in Europe there are plenty of countries with laws to protect old buildings but most of the time these laws are flawed as fuck and result in less affordable housing for people who want to live somewhere and cheaper real estate for big fraudulent dickheads who want to build new rental buildings
So I feel like I’m doing peertube wrong. I’m trying to find good content, but it feels like every single instance I find is just “here’s the linux news, here’s the new linux tips, here’s the linux gossip, linux linux linux!” And I do not give a shit about linux. I just want to find the non-tech, non-video game content.
It’s probably just the same guy with different accounts. It’s always an account that is created post this shit in a few communities and then (hopefully) gets banned.
Yeah, so there isn’t any need to fling one’s entire self forward when standing from a poop so I don’t see this as a problem unless OP is a giraffe or just really bad at standing up…
