Am I the only one who loves the Switch? That the joycons come off and even have their own shoulder buttons is so cool. You can just set it on a table and play some multiplayer Mario Kart, heck yes. And they snap into the ring fit circle thingie! Neat! And the Pro controller is great all around.
Shout out to the DS Lite. Loved that thing. Gotta have the thumb strap to play that Metroid multiplayer FPS.
Worst: TI-84. How the hell they still charging over $100 for this thing, when it has less processing power than a Palm Pilot? Seriously the CPU is from 1976. Yeah Bubble Bobble and Block Dude are great, but the Zelda port runs awful.
Do you have time to build something partially from scratch? I could see repurposing an old laptop, disassemble it and make the screen face outwards with the board affixed to the back of the screen lid.
Might take some creative routing with the internal display cable, but I’ve taken apart tons of laptops where this would be doable, especially after you’ve discarded the plastic chassis
Though you’ll still need a frame of some kind, unless you like the “raw-tech” look
We got one of those electric fly swatters, but the thing is too heavy to swing fast enough to pop flies like you’d want. So on a hunch, I checked YouTube for a trick to make them more effective.
Basically take a styrofoam plate with a little food on it and tape it to the fly swatter, and zip tie the switch down and set it wherever the flies are at their worst. For bait, I just put a smear of ketchup and ranch dressing on a paper towel.
We managed to kill over 30 flies in about 2 days. Heads up though, they’re not designed to be left continuously powered on, the batteries will end up dead and leaking after a couple days.
I had to toss the batteries and open up the swatter handle to clean out the battery juice off of the terminals so it won’t rot out.
But hey, aside from the inconvenience with the batteries, the trick just freaking works 👍
Well I have like 3 decades of wall adapters collected, so I would dig one out with the right specs lol. You can find the exact voltage and amperage one on Amazon or any number of electronics suppliers.
Somewhat haphazardly. I typically listen to multiple genres in one session as well. What I usually do is if I hear a song I like that’s not already in a playlist (or if I like it enough that I want it in multiple playlists), I’ll chuck it in at the end of one. Then when I have downtime I play around with the song order so that I like how each song transitions to the next. I enjoy doing that as a way to unwind. This method isn’t great if you’re the type that needs everything organized all the time though since my playlists are usually in some level of a work in progress state! The names are very boring - P01, P02, etc. I also have some playlists that are more themed, for instance a road trip playlist with more upbeat songs. I’ll usually play around with that one based on who is road tripping with me and what type of music I think they’ll enjoy.
Do Iceland still do Official Greggs Products in their freezer section? Steak bakes made at home never tasted quite the same as they do off of the tray of random temperature in the shops, but sometimes that’s an itch that needs scratching.
Get a few bottles of suspiciously-cheap no-brand spirits, a few cartons of fruit drink and a couple of bottles of carbonated beverages, empty the whole lot into the ‘punch’ bucket while the 50-piece snack food selections heats through in the oven, including a few genuine Greggs items as centrepieces? Am telling you, Iceland has everything you need to kickstart a very reasonably-priced house party.
Of course. The key is the pressure, heat, and amount of time the water requires to pass through the brewing process. Without the filter it passes through faster and with less pressure. It’s the same concept behind an espresso machine and why top baristas will dump the coffee if it took too long to brew.
But it also has more to do with your ratios. If the extraction is too bitter try changing a variable and see if you get a better result. More coffee, less water, etc. that’s also how baristas and the rest of us espresso makers dial in shots.
