I’ll always have fond memories of it. I learned a lot back in the day and swore by it.

CrypticCoffee , to asklemmy in how do you survive lazy coworkers?

“When I work I like to do my job and then relax.”

They like to do it the other way around. They do nothing, then something. You do something then nothing. Why do you feel that your way has to b the right way and everyone else is wrong?

Do your workload, and no more, and be fine with it, or move to another organisation with the same problem.

The goal is for you to be able to understand that people in this world are different to you and that is fine. As long as you aren’t doing their job for them, it’s all good. If you choose to do that, it is on you.

Blursty , to asklemmy in What household item do you wish there was a trial/testing period for?
@Blursty@lemmygrad.ml avatar

Coffee machines. Every one I’ve gotten for years now ends up leaking water. Tried a load of brands.

There are still good options for mainstream competitive gaming. CSGO, Rocket League, Apex Legends to name a few.

I’m missing PUBG though.

Mouette ,

I found Squad as a good alternative to PUBG for slow military gameplay even tho it’s not really same concept

billbasher , to nostupidquestions in Why is it that when I write on Googles keyboard on my phone and misspell something it has no idea what I am trying to write but if I Google the same word it knows instantly what the word is?

Get one with a swiping feature (not sure if yours has it already). They are way more accurate with autocorrect. I think I used SwiftKey when I was on Android

corsicanguppy ,

The standard Google keyboard has a good swipe, but sometimes needs to be activated.

It’s WAY better to swipe on the Google keyboard vs pecking at it.

Etterra , to nostupidquestions in is it possible to be married and still feel lonely?

Yes, but based on your description that guy has other issues. He should probably see a therapist.

Spacehooks , to nostupidquestions in is it possible to be married and still feel lonely?

I feel so starved for attention. I wouldn’t be on lemmy if my partner didn’t need soo much alone time. I grew up in a home full of people. There was always someone to play or talk with now it’s just internet.

volvoxvsmarla ,

Same. My partner needs his quiet time and alone time and just a spouse and child (I am the primary caregiver) is so overwhelming. I never expected to become the parent of an only child, I felt like just me and my sister was so little when I was growing up. But now this is what I am stuck with. Just one child and a spouse I hardly interact with because it’s too much and meditation and peace and quiet is making them more happy than time spent together.

FuglyDuck , to nostupidquestions in Are there any legal issues with pulling out of an interview?
@FuglyDuck@lemmy.world avatar

… what are they going to do? send you a bill that will probably cost more to fight over in court and go through the collections fees than would otherwise be reasonable?

At worst, they’re just going to mark it as being you declined to interview.

morgunkorn , to nostupidquestions in Are there any legal issues with pulling out of an interview?
@morgunkorn@discuss.tchncs.de avatar

I see absolutely no problem, the process of interviewing for a company goes both ways: for them to see if you would be a good fit for their open position, and for you to evaluate if what they offer is right for you.

No contract have been signed, you are free to revoke any appointment. Be courteous, let them know you have made a decision not to pursue this venture and that will be enough.

Etterra , to explainlikeimfive in What's up with JD Vance and couches??

The dude fucked a couch one time, that we heard about. You know it must be true since Jorkin Peanuts Vance denied it.

SomeAmateur , (edited ) to science_memes in Camouflage

In most places there isn’t one “best” camo because seasons change. For example flecktarn might be the best in summer but when fall and winter makes everything brown Multicam/OCP can become the best choice.

But this map is better than some versions with weird hard to find latterns like Alpenflage, Rhodesian Brushstroke and Finnish M05

Thanks for coming to my TED talk sh.itjust.works/c/camouflage

Zwiebel ,

Additionaly, you might need different camo in say the toys section of a walmart vs the parking lot

SomeAmateur ,

You joke (walmart people need their own nature documentary) but if someone ever figured out urban camouflage militaries would pay stupid amounts of money for it

There’s been at least one Airsoft player that did this, and it was incredibly effective. I’d have to hunt around for the YouTube video they posted.

That’s not just camouflage, that’s a full-blown urban ghillie suit.

Again to be clear, this is separate from being anywhere within a 5-mile range of Walmart, where entirely different rules apply:-). For that, the clothing is more… optional.

I’m within 5 miles of a Wal-Mart and – this is true – currently not dressed. So that checks out.

FuglyDuck , to nostupidquestions in Which height should I choose for a ring?
@FuglyDuck@lemmy.world avatar

can you go to a jeweler and get your finger sized? the sizing is going to depend on you and your finger.

DayOk2 OP ,

It is not about the ring size but about the height of the metal part. The circle opening in the ring is the ring size.

FuglyDuck ,
@FuglyDuck@lemmy.world avatar

that’ll be addressed during a proper sizing. what’s right for you is going to be mostly-unique to you.

Blue_Morpho ,

To expand on FuglyDuck’s comment, the reason it is unique to you is because it depends on the size of your knuckle relative to bone diameter near your hand.

If you have thick knuckles but also thick bones/tissue then a thicker ring will hit the adjacent fingers and might be annoying.

Try a bunch of rings of different thicknesses to find what is comfortable for you.

slazer2au , to nostupidquestions in Are there any legal issues with pulling out of an interview?

They will have no issue with dropping you if they found something they don’t like.

Why should you worry? If you be respectful and say you have reconsidered your application at this time and don’t wish to continue it should not cause a problem. If it does cause a problem, then you have dodged a massive red flag.

Rhynoplaz , to nostupidquestions in Are there any legal issues with pulling out of an interview?

You don’t owe them a damn thing. Trust your gut.
