Exactly! And why did they have to ask it so directly? Where’s the tact? They’re as arrogant as Donald Trump, and they have the morals of (whispered in a raspy voice) an alleycat!
If the program is EOL why do they care if you use it or not? Like fuck thats really a nasty way on making you buy the new software. But you know what? If you are looking for a better version. Translate to Spanish Pirate Artist and you can find it there.
Yes, twice. Both for inane shite. Once for quoting a line from a movie in a post about that movie (Glengarry Glenross) which contained a slur, and on my new account for making a joke about a guy who happened to be Indian and was in no way racist. My pleas fell on deaf ears. I can’t say this strongly enough - fuck Reddit, it’s a shit hole, full of bots and power-hungry mods. Stay away. Here is better.
He says he reinvests it all, which may be true or not. Amazon also famously did the same for about 20 years, but Bezos still lived like a billionaire off loans/etc during that time.
Me. Also no. I made r/Artisanvideos, turned it into a thriving community, and got sacked for a tongue in cheek comment. I get the impression that Reddit’s admins specifically pound the pavement to remove people from their successful work and take it for themselves.
Tbh, it’s really nice to not have to obsess over that anymore.
It was kind of spur of the moment to make it. I saw a need and made it happen! I don’t generally try to do that, but after it started actually growing I got obsessed and defensive about it. I can’t tell you how crazy agitated I got about spammers, advertisers, pluggers, and bots. I regularly told people off. It was always “quit your bullshit, don’t even try to act like you’re not here for the giant audience visibility on our relatively low post count” and people would call me a tyrant because I shut the door on them trying to abuse it. I’m literally the reason r/subredditdrama was born. I don’t want any of that anymore and I lucked out having found a good guy to leave in charge a good few months before I was banned. It’s so hard to find the right guy who’s not just clamoring for power.
I don’t think it really recovered after the mod revolt. A lot of the major subs have changed and the site seems more geared to delivering content than having discussions.
If you like some subs that you want to participate in, I’d participate in those. However, for a general Reddit experience, it just isn’t the same.
Not a nurse but I worked a lot of manual labor jobs that had me on my feet moving all day (e.g., home renovation work) and I can say that your body eventually gets used to that kind of work and the soreness becomes a persistent dull ache that honestly isn’t bad. Kinda like if you just work out daily.
Nursing may be different, and my experience may not apply, but I would think that you will get used to it.
Honestly the only thing I never got used to was standing in one place at retail work. Standing all day in the same spot is not natural and the body rejects it.
I worked a desk job for 20 years, then suddenly shifted careers and was on my feet ask day and constantly moving and walking and lifting. It was tiring but my body got used to it and I invested in good shoes and insoles, and I ended up getting in the best shape of my life.
Then I moved and I started working as a cashier and I can’t stand it, no pun intended. Standing in one spot is 100x worse and I dread every day that I have to go in to work. If all goes well, I’ll be switching jobs soon. 🤞🏽🤞🏽
