9point6 , to asklemmy in What Podcasts do you listen to?

How has no one mentioned “Off Menu”? It’s pretty much always my first choice of podcast if published a new one

I think you can have password auth in Samba.

That being said, the more important thing is to protect your VPN network.

I think you could happily live your life not knowing who he is. I will say that he’s a master at knowing what will make someone click on his videos.

thesohoriots ,

He’s a master at knowing what will make someone click

He effectively dedicated a couple years to “study” this, which is exactly what you can do with your life when you live in Greenville, NC.

DarkCloud , to android in 10 years of android and I never managed to share files via WiFi direct

WIFI file transfer, downloaded from pure apk:

You have to allow third party apps to install it but then you’re good to go.

Jimmycrackcrack , to asklemmy in What is the Orb?

Pretty sure it’s this

My top vote as the YouTuber who looks the least like his actual handle implies.

grrgyle , to asklemmy in How to deal with being bald?

It’s the same thing as with a hat: if you’re uncomfortable it’ll show. Comfort is the only difference between “hat people” and everyone else.

Long hair, short hair, no hair; if you feel good people can tell, and you’ll ascribe those feelings to how you look.

I’m the opposite, the longer my hair gets the dirtier I feel, until I finally crop it short, or if I’m really wanting that “clean fresh start” feeling, shave it off entirely.

Anyway, lucky for you, you don’t have to get used to it! Just wait it out and you’ll be back to your old self before you know it.

Good post!

TrudeauCastroson , to piracy in Adobe stole my creative suite

They were right, they are an untrustworthy seller.

Reminds me of when all their customer data leaked, and obviously the people who pirated didn’t have that issue.

Alice , to asklemmy in Who the hell is MrBeast?

What I gather from working in retail is that “Mr. Beast” is an incantation that brainwashes children into begging for candy bars they’d normally hate.

Can’t argue with them there. Adobe is not trustworthy.

A celebrity who embodies boredom and has made a fortune off of that.

pineapplelover , to asklemmy in What Podcasts do you listen to?

Currently Dan Carlin’s Hardcore History. Love it because he’s good at the storytelling and there aren’t a lot of sponsored segments like other popular shows.

Vanth , to asklemmy in if you are a nurse or know nurses, do you / they feel sore after each shift?
@Vanth@reddthat.com avatar

A former SO hated the desk shifts, coming home with sore knees, hips, and back. The worksite had super crap ergonomics with no space in the desk area to stand up periodically to stretch.

Almost like a full day of the exact same thing, whether it be sitting or standing, is bad for the human body.

A YouTuber who is now selling cookies. I can tell from the thumbnails of his videos that I am way too much an old, curmudgeonly, jaded millennial to be his target demographic. It must be more the youths that enjoy him and I wish them all well.

xionzui ,

They won’t be well if they watch him. One of his main money makers is dishonest and probably illegal lotteries where he suggests almost everyone who buys something from him will get some kind of big prize. In reality, the odds are like 1 in 60000, and the requirement of a purchase for a chance to get the prize is probably illegal.

He also sells chocolate and cookies as “healthy” using similar underhanded promises of rewards. He also runs contests and game shows that are staged and rigged which, again, is illegal on broadcast TV.
