Windows is closed source and controlled by Microsoft. There is no way to verify what it actually does on your PC and as long as it’s installed, your computer is not really yours.
Linux is open source and closely scrutinized for security violations or any sort of data collection shitfuckery. That’s no guarantee, of course, but you have a far better chance of your computer not acting as a surveillance mechanism.
Having said that, Linux does take some technical knowledge, so be prepared to put on some work before making the switch.
If there was malware on your machine that skimmed your password, it might be compromised. Better change it on a different device before logging in again. But that would amount to criminal malfeasance or at least criminal negligence on the part of your university. But better be safe than sorry.
I’m asking bc I want to do the most effective thing, after I get told what to do I can do it I swear haha Just trying to get as much advice as possible
Pronouns in German in weird. sie and Sie have different meaning depending on the form of verb and capitalization. I kinda like the French way of speaking - je, tu, il, elle, nous, vous, ils, elles.
We don’t have any contact with candidates after the interview apart from a firm rejection. I’d love to provide feedback and advice to people but legal won’t let us.
One of my friends is looking for a job and he never gets feedback when he is rejected. It never occurred to me it could be because the legal team had a stick up their asses.
Yea, I was a manager at multiple jobs and wasn’t allowed to give interview feedback for this reason, they were afraid anything I said would be fuel for a wrongful rejection lawsuit.
Windows 11 Home is not compatible with the vast majority of MDM systems. Your school can’t see what you do. If you still want to reset your laptop, do this:
Click Start.
Click Settings.
Click System.
Click Recovery.
Click Reset PC.
Choose to keep your files or remove everything.
Follow the instructions to reset your computer.
As an Android flavour it should be safe after uninstalling all apps associated with the university. Did any of them need a “device owner” permission? That’s the only way to be more persistent on Android without root access.
As the others said, a factory reset will suffice. If you’re really paranoid, you can check whether your phone has a custom rom you can install. XDA Developers is the best forum to look for that.
You guys have time for other things? I do my job and can fill my day with that. I sometimes have to stand my ground to make other people understand that no, I cannot do this additional tasks everyday, I don’t have the time for that.
95% of the time it is busy. The other 5% I use to catch up with the stuff I have no time for when it is busy.
Well that is when I am at work. My work times are clearly defined and when the time is over, I go home. So I am limited to about 8 hours in a day, with a very rare exception of 15 minutes longer.
After work and in the weekends I still have time to chill, but at work I have no downtime except for breaks. Luckily my boss also knows how busy we are and doesn’t complain if I cannot get everything finished, he just tells me what is a priority and what not.
That is really helpful for the stress levels, but it is still a pretty stressful job.
