You said it best, corporate greed. It sucks the gaming industry has moved to this model of selling their customers junk. I still personally value the in game cosmetics that you earn over store bought ones. I know this is different for a single player game but still frustrating nonetheless.
Many federation things are broken atm. i know of Multiple communitys that are behind hours or Multiple days both on lemmy.world and Kbin the instance owner says their server got tons of recources free so its federation related bugs i guess.
In order for a cow to produce milk it must be pregnant or recently pregnant, then once it gets older and starts producing less milk it will be slaughtered.
Are cows raped for butter? always? is it the same degree of awfulness if a cow gets ‘raped’ in a industrial plant or if a cow gets mounted by a bull in a field? is ‘rape’ even a term that can be used to describe actions that are done to or by animals? Or should it be used for humans only? is it disrespectful to human victims of rape to use the same words to describe something that happened to an animal? Are cows slaughtered for butter? every cow that produced milk that was used to make butter? How many people could the death of a cow benefit before it becomes a morally correct thing to do? What is a cows life worth? Would stopping to breed cows and thus a collapsing overall world-population of cows be something good or something bad? Or is it in between somewhere? Who defines even what is morally correct and what isnt?

Not yet but the fediverse is an open protocol and standard. Just like email, http, and html have evolved over the years, so can and will the fediverse. If it’s technically possible it can happen.
Both of those instances tend to be fairly censorship heavy, so people who just want to have a chat will be less interested in joining an instance that’s going to shut down a conversation that they’re enjoying.
Before all this stuff with reddit went down, most of the instances on the threadiverse we’re fairly censorship heavy, and so people didn’t really bother coming over from the main fediverse. With the establishment of new and more liberal instances and the infusion of new users, the potential of Lemmy has really been unleashed.
I'd say don't bring it up if it doesn't matter. Some companies have internal diversity targets so it could help your department if something like that exists in your company or is implemented in the future.
I haven’t played my GameCube since it was current, but recently I installed the picoboot mod which lets me load games off of a microSD card. Haven’t actually sat down to play anything yet but I’ve booted Baten Kaitos and Tales of Symphonia just to confirm that it works 😎
It sounds like your partition table is corrupted. Recreating it (with parted or fdisk) shouldn’t affect the data. Also, I believe that if it shows up as a block device, you should be able to copy it with dd. dd can write to another block device or to a file (like an iso).
