I keep closing my browser tabs by accident with Ctrl + W
While editing in an input field, I’m so used to going for Ctrl+W instead of Ctrl+Backspace because it’s more ergonomic. But almost all modern browsers use Ctrl + W to close tabs. Since when was this a convention? I’d love to go back in time and git revert this change. Incredibly frustrating....
Why is copy and paste so difficult for Linux to solve?
It seems like for at least a decade every application/framework has had their own paste buffer, and honestly I’m surprised this isn’t “just working” out of the box by now....
Every time I turn around, there's another damn Linux fanboy crawling out from under a rock

Hello
Hello
Why is it called Lemmy?
Sorry if someone has already asked this. This is my first post on Lemmy. I mean, I guess you could ask the same question about Reddit but I’m pretty sure it’s supposed to be Read-It. But what does Lemmy mean? Is it a cute word for a small lemon?
ELI5: If you're a Christian, why do you have to be good if Jesus will forgive you no matter what?
I grew up going to church but I'm not religious now and I never really understood this part....
Do you think that Lemmy will last or will it die in a few weeks?
Podman is awesome—and totally frustrating
So Podman is an open source container engine like Docker—with “full”^1^ Docker compatibility. IMO Podman’s main benefit over Docker is security. But how is it more secure? Keep reading…...
Confused about Podman
Before I dabbled a bit with Docker. I wanted to dabble a bit with Podman because it seemed quite interesting. I reinstalled Pi OS Lite on my Pi 3B+ and installed Podman. Then I figured out what to run and started digging through the documentation. Apparently Docker containers work quite similar and even Docker compose can be...

What JRPG combat is your favorite?
I’m currently playing Xenoblade Chronicles and I also played Final Fantasy remake and Golden Sun recently and all of them have wildly different combats. Which got me thinking what JRPG out there had the best combat? This doesn’t mean that it’s necessarily your favorite JRPG as well....

PSA: Grayjay is really good
Saw Louis Rossmans original video on the app and figured (and it may well have been) it would be buggy and awful at that point. Decided to gike it a try, the app has all the options I could want for watching youtube, it’s multiplatform to a much greater degree than Newpipe and it’s forks....
What's with all the hate for Chinese phones?
I get that Huawei, or ZTE are not a good idea for network infrastructure, and that phones for people in governments, military, large corps and research environments, should be vetted, but for average Joe? Many Chinese manufacturers don’t have close ties to the government, and any non Chinese phone that you can buy also has...
