We’re at a great nexus for Lemmy here, with so many users (including me) giving up Reddit for good and moving to the federated universe....

I’m mainly only using it for p2p, everything else is secondary. Portforwarding is necessary though....

I think it’s time for me to come clean about this. I kinda became addicted to Reddit, but most importantly, reddit stories. It became part of my routine to listen to podcasts that read reddit stories. NGL it’s really enjoyable, but there is always some people that debates if the stories are true....

I’m a seasoned Linux user, but mostly for servers and services, not really for desktop use....

Ended up taking a huge chunk out the side of her head. It was a massacre. There were tears and panic attacks, it was pretty full on and sucked to see her so upset....

We recently had our heater changed to a heat pump and whilst producing the same amount of heat, it’s also very energy efficient, using a good chunk less energy than our previous heater....

I’ve been trying to get into playing some old games I’ve either missed out on or have completely forgot I’ve even played. I now find myself wanting to play games from SNES and the Gameboy line and can’t settle down on which handheld to play all these games on....

I was struggling to wrap my head around how federated social media works until I realized that email has basically been doing the same thing for 30 years. Different email servers are like instances of a federated network. You can send emails to people from within a single server or you can send emails to people on any other mail...
