There are quite a few choices of brands when it comes to purchasing harddisks or ssd, but which one do you find the most reliable one? Personally had great experiences with SeaGate, but heard ChrisTitus had the opposite experience with them....
Hi, I have an Asus vivobook pro 16x oled (M7600QC) optimus laptop with a dedicated Nvidia RTX 3050 Max-Q rated 50w. When I try to use the dedicated Nvidia GPU on Linux, the wattage is only 35w. If I enable the “nvidia-powerd” daemon, it goes up to ~40w. Is there a way to raise the wattage to the rated 50w like on Windows?...

I recently built my first rig and been using the hdmi cable that came with the MSI Optix G24C6 144hz monitor, which should be 1.4b. But now I remembered that the monitor is G-Sync compatible. Through googling I found out that majority prefers display port over hdmi but since I don’t have DP, I’m not exactly sure if it’s...

Does anyone have any hints as to how to get Beeper Mini working with a UK SIM?...
My current setup consists of a Raspberry Pi 4 with 4gb RAM and a 1tb external SSD. I’m thinking of getting a used mini PC for around 100€ to replace that tho because it would give me a lot more power and especially RAM (I currently need to use an 8gb swap file). My plan so far is to get a used mini PC that’s quiet, has a...
I recently decided to replace the SD card in my Raspberry Pi and reinstall the system. Without any special backups in place, I turned to rsync to duplicate /var/lib/docker with all my containers, including Nextcloud....
Hiya, I’m looking to keep track of my different services in hosting via Unraid. Right now I’m hosting roughly 12 different services, but would be nice to have the logs of all my services in one place, preferably with a nice GUI. Are there any such services that could easily connect to the different docker containers I have...
My apologies for the long post....
I need some help with Handbrake and HDR not encoding on AV1 SVT, 10bit and NVEnc. I haven’t been able to find an appropriate instance to ask about it so I figured my pirate buddies might be able to help me find a place.

So I’ve been using Rustdesk with a self hosted server for business and personal use now for some time. However, it is definitely the sketchiest foss software I’ve used. It seems to be based in China but the developers keep lying and saying its in Singapore....
Also, how would that work on things like birth certificates?
I’m trying to move away from Authy since they’re ending support for their desktop app, and I thought Aegis would be the right app for me to jump to, but it doesn’t seem to have a desktop app. So I’m wondering what FOSS apps the rest of you use for Desktop and Mobile 2FA?
