Anyone else get random cancellation emails from onlyfans?

Now, I never created an onlyfans account, but today I got two emails from them: one asking to confirm an email account, and one confirming its cancellation. Was that a hack going around or just bad luck on my end? I already changed passwords and everything, just wondering if anyone else had a problem like this.

Even if your parents weren't truly bad, what was the most narcissistic/narcissist-esque trait or thing they ever did?

As someone with good parents, I get very demoralized hearing about how ungodly awful most peoples’ parents were. It’s so ubiquitous that I almost (almost but not quite) subscribe to the philosophy my friends have where they hold that children should (literally) be raised “by the village” rather than by two parents, which...

How do you use Wine/Proton? Italian

One of the biggest things holding me back from jumping definitively on Linux is possibly getting rid of the apps/games i’m comfortable with and know well. How do you exaclty use Wine/Proton? You install it, launch the app with it and pray it works? Are there ways to know what is not working and possibly try to fix them...

Reddit Undeleted all my posts and comments

Before I left Reddit, I used a plugin through the api to replace all of my comments with random gibberish and then delete them. Part of this was because (mandatory) fuck spez. But more importantly, it was to protect the anonymity of my account. After years of posting, there is likely enough personal information shared to...

Paperless-ngx re-process failed mail consumption?

I’ve been using paperless-ngx to consume mail from outlook/hotmail for a while now, but recently had the mail server refuse connections while mail was being processed. (Not sure why, consuming is working now with no changes and no errors besides ‘connection refused’, while retrieving that mail. Temporary outage I guess?)...

How do you use your user tags in your app?

So quite a few lemmy clients have a tagging feature for users. I use it quite constantly because I like to remember who I’m talking to. Though for some I just use it for descriptors. A few of you are listed as stubborn, a few of you are listed as don’t engage, a few are Nice, or helpful, or Pug. I believe one of you is just...

How can I organize my ebook collection without file duplication?

I am seeking advice regarding my ebook collection on a Linux system, which is stored on an external drive and sorted into categories. However, there are still many unsorted ebooks. I have tried using Calibre for organization, but it creates duplicate files during import on my main drive where I don’t want to keep any media. I...

Can anyone suggest some good co-op games for two people?

Hello all! My buddy and I finally finished up Baldur’s Gate 3 this week and we are not left with a giant co-op game shaped whole in our hearts. It was such an incredible experience and it was truly even more fun running through it together. We are excited to hop into another game, but we have no idea what to play. We’ve...

Layered encryption?

If we consider information to be safe if we encrypt it (e.g., text in a file, encrypted with modern strong encryption), would it be safer (as in harder to crack) if we then encrypted the encrypted file, and encrypted the encrypted^2 file, etc.? Is this what strong encryption already does behind the scenes?
