When films are adapted from books, more often than not, I tend to find the books a lot more enjoyable. So I have skipped watching a lot of films in the hope of reading the books later....

I’ve always wondered how many people actually decide to use something like mastodon to see Lemmy posts. I mean I know how inadequate it can be with a lack of a proper UI but I’m just wondering. Especially, with the infinite possibilities this can have.

One Plus is the newer exclusion in the list of reducing number of new devices in the US which can run Custom ROMs. Right now, I only really know of the Pixel and the Nothing line of mobiles which can run Custom ROMs....

The quality of search engines has gone down so much for technical questions....

I have a few videos I ripped from CDs that I’m loading onto a personal plex server, but all of them use the type of subtitles that will force the video to transcode....

I’m curious if it would ever actually be possible to encounter one of his joke items in the wild, or if they merely only exist in photos....

I recently tried to play Wolfenstein New Order, I realized that unlocking the framerate makes the game break. why? (sorry for bad english)

I’ve always found myself bouncing off hard on “make your own fun” type games like Minecraft or the newer Zeldas. This extends to any type of game that has no clear goals or motivators....

Currently I’m more aware of general interest instances for both Lemmy & Kbin, and a few more focused ones (e.g. Mander.xyz/slrpnk.net/startrek.website), so I’m curious what others there might be....

I’m a FOSS (free and open source software) contributor and enthusiast. So I prefer to use such products (Lemmy instead of Reddit, Linux instead of Windows, Firefox instead of Chrome, Signal instead of WhatsApp, you get the idea). Was just thinking that if everyone moved to such solutions, the tech and ad industry would lose...

Other creative toys/products that come to mind would be, say, Play-Doh as a sort of children’s intro to…Clay, I suppose? But in this vein without being exclusively directed towards children (albeit I imagine many may be)....
