Why YSK: it doesn't matter how original you might think you are, they have heard them before. Numerous times in fact. If you're in the habit of making name-based jokes as soon as you meet someone you should stop. At best you're mildly annoying the person, at worst you're preventing what could have been a great friendship before...

My tendency seems to be owning my own business and freelancing until I die (until I get stable enough to build my own products). I've been trying to connect with more business-minded people--"average of 5 people" type of mentality. Currently it seems that the only way of doing this is LinkedIn....

In the past, most software I used was paid and proprietary and would have some sort of limitation that I would try to get around by any means possible. Sometimes that would be resetting the clock on my computer, disabling the internet, and other times downloading a patch....

When I was on Reddit I felt like my opinion didn’t matter. But here it just feels more open and free.

So this Lemmy place is pretty awesome, and I see it growing by the hour! Just like others link external sites for content here, we should really also share Lemmy content to external (e.g. Reddit, Twitter, etc.) to show others where the users are going now....

If content on the fediverse is federated and copied to local instances, then won't instances have to hold onto a forever increasing amount of data?

Title. Pisses me off mildly. I’ve got my earbud in for a reason (quick drive) and Bluetooth decides to connect to the car when it starts. The cars’ head unit takes forever to start and have to manually switch over to Bluetooth mode (while the audio is already playing) and the volume is way down....

Been trying to work out how to do this but it seems be way out of my league....

So Elon gutted Twitter, and people jumped ship to Mastodon. Now spez did… you know… and we’re on Lemmy and Kbin. Can we have a YouTube to PeerTube exodus next? With the whole ad-pocalypse over there, seems like Google is itching for it.

Found smash/totk on fitgirl repacks but it uses yuzu which requires a switch. Not spending 300 on an ageing console atp, is there any workaround?
