They sure put a damper on the spread of COVID, even with a bunch of idiots refusing to take them.

rigatti ,
@rigatti@lemmy.world avatar

Something makes me think people would be more willing to take vaccines when facing down a life or death coin flip. At that point their “concerns” over long term effects don’t matter as much.

This is Kumail Nanjiani’s best work.

rigatti ,
@rigatti@lemmy.world avatar

Dude, you can’t use that word anymore.

rigatti ,
@rigatti@lemmy.world avatar

I don’t want it, but it’s coming. Maybe it’s here even. That “I Glued My Balls To My Butthole Again” song gets stuck in my head all the time.

rigatti ,
@rigatti@lemmy.world avatar

I’m not exactly sure it’s a safe bet. Hillary was a safe bet over Bernie, right? A few votes in the right areas could tip the election either way. The fact that he can’t find a way to appease both the people who are against genocide and the people who are pro-Israel is worrying to me.

You are definitely right about Trump not having the same problem though. However, Trump could also say literally anything on the issue and still get support because nothing he does actually matters.

Cool song, although I wish they had just sung in Japanese. The English pronunciation is… not great.

He surely has enough money from Stardew to live comfortably for the rest of his life. Why would he need to publish anything?

The Long, Tortured Road to Biden’s Clash With Netanyahu Over Gaza War (www.nytimes.com)

President Biden laid it out for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of Israel long before letting the public know. In a conversation bristling with tension on Feb. 11, the president warned the prime minister against a major assault on the Gaza city of Rafah — and suggested that continued U.S. support would depend on how Israel...

They were just making a comparison rather than insinuating that the other poster supports Trump.

rigatti ,
@rigatti@lemmy.world avatar

Joe Biden, solely responsible for decades of conflict in the region that has recently come to a head.

rigatti ,
@rigatti@lemmy.world avatar

Yo I want him to cut aid to Israel too, but pinning the blame solely on him is asinine.

rigatti ,
@rigatti@lemmy.world avatar

GoToThePolls? You mean PokemonGoToThePolls?

rigatti ,
@rigatti@lemmy.world avatar

I watched and was mildly interested until the singing kicked in, then I had to nope out.

@rigatti@lemmy.world avatar

If everyone’s a sniper, we’re all safe.

rigatti ,
@rigatti@lemmy.world avatar

The joke was more an extension of the argument ammosexuals like to make about everyone being safer when everyone is armed. A bit of a non-sequitur, but those are nice from time to time.

The US and China maintain a good economic relationship but aren’t exactly buddies when it comes to geopolitical issues and have very different viewpoints on things like human rights and democracy.

@rigatti@lemmy.world avatar

Really weird to stumble onto a blog written by someone you vaguely knew in college almost 20 years ago… Anyway, nice job, Ed Zitron.

There’s a few things wrong here. First, it’s made of steel, which is iron and not aluminum. Second, neither of those is as mineral. Third, aluminum has pretty good corrosion resistance in terms of metals.

None of that is to say that Tesla had any idea what they were doing when designing this monstrosity.

rigatti ,
@rigatti@lemmy.world avatar

Yeah they just stopped updating it and let all their RTS talent go to other companies to make their own games.

rigatti ,
@rigatti@lemmy.world avatar

Seriously, searching for anything on your PC is completely useless.

rigatti ,
@rigatti@lemmy.world avatar

I hope it didn’t severely reduce the pupulation in the US.

rigatti ,
@rigatti@lemmy.world avatar

There’s no virtual mouse, are you thinking of the wrong game?

rigatti ,
@rigatti@lemmy.world avatar

I’ve always just dragged the cards rather than using successive taps. It’s pretty intuitive in my opinion. I would have never thought to call that a virtual mouse…

Deselecting a card without casting it can be a little tricky, but you can usually tap another card or something without causing an issue.

rigatti ,
@rigatti@lemmy.world avatar

In that case you tap the card and it pops up to show the text. Still pretty intuitive. I guess if you’ve never played a deck building game or RPG it could be confusing?

rigatti ,
@rigatti@lemmy.world avatar

The one aspect is slightly unintuitive, but mostly you tap and drag like you would on any mobile interface. It’s wild to me that people would be frustrated out of playing because of the interface.

rigatti ,
@rigatti@lemmy.world avatar

Wow, a bunch of these changes make sense, but I’m not sure how I feel about making so many changes to make things easier.

rigatti ,
@rigatti@lemmy.world avatar

Agreed, I gave up on beating gold stake when I would lose most of the runs on the first couple antes. I think it’s good to have a brutally difficult mode, I hope they didn’t go overboard on easing it up, but it was good to ease up a bit.

@rigatti@lemmy.world avatar

I’m kind of addicted to watching these videos, but for the life of me I can’t understand how some of these professional musicians haven’t heard some of the most famous songs of the past 30 years or whatever.

I just learned that the Time Cube is no more. (lemmy.world)

Some of you may remember this absolute diamond of insanity that was the “4-Day Time Cube.” This was the go-to example of the internet as a universal amplifier for communication - for both the sane and insane alilke. It was there from nearly the start of the world-wide web, back in the 1990’s. Alas, it ceased to be some...

rigatti ,
@rigatti@lemmy.world avatar

Unless it was time traveling AI then yes. It was around like 25 years ago, hence being a classic.

rigatti ,
@rigatti@lemmy.world avatar

You make a great point. Harmonic Cube states that the four days occur in one rotation. Four simultaneous days. 4 HORSEMEN HAVE 4 DAYS IN 1 ROTATION. Time Cube is Eternal.

rigatti ,
@rigatti@lemmy.world avatar

Now this is a solid April Fools joke.

@rigatti@lemmy.world avatar

Has Discord ever been remotely profitable though? I can’t imagine enough people put money into it that they haven’t just been bleeding cash for 10 years. It’s hard for me to exactly call it greed if they’re just trying to get back to even. I could imagine it being completely enshittified in the name of profit in the future though.

rigatti ,
@rigatti@lemmy.world avatar

Uh oh!

rigatti ,
@rigatti@lemmy.world avatar

Same, however, I keep my phone on vibrate so I never actually hear it.

rigatti ,
@rigatti@lemmy.world avatar

Shameless self-promotion, but I just released an album like that: YouTube / Spotify

Two 2000's tech things I'm shocked still exist (lemmy.world)

PCMag - I used to physically walk into a store and buy that magazine to read about computers…before the internet was so clean and fast it made for a better news and media experience. I’m pretty sure PCMag has been around since they included AOL cds with an isssue....

rigatti ,
@rigatti@lemmy.world avatar

I noticed the severe enshittification, but I didn’t realize it was due to an Amazon buyout. That makes a lot of sense. I used to check it every day and now it’s just when something like this post crops up, out of curiosity.

rigatti ,
@rigatti@lemmy.world avatar

I think mainly people are upset about the animal abuse occurring because of the research at the company.
