While I don’t want to support reddit or turbo capitalism, I think a viewpoint that is often missed here is the fact, that a fair share of those subreddits are created and moderated by people that create and hold together communities, especially in the beginning of the sub. There are also a lot of cases were the platform is used to cross link to other platforms and gain profits there.

What do YouTube tech reviewers do with all the tech?

As asked in the title. Anyone have insider information? Speculations are welcomed. It just seems such an e-waste, but at the same time some reviewing more well known techs are helpful. But those whose goal is to make their video entertaining rather than informative like going on a tech shopping spree on Amazon or Aliexpress to...

Depends, a really big tech reviewer probably gifts some stuff to his friends and family - other than that they all have a huge amount of physical storage. Like others pointed out, big companies like Linus Tech Tips have a huge Warehouse.

DNA Tests Are Uncovering the True Prevalence of Incest (www.theatlantic.com)

The geneticist Jim Wilson, at the University of Edinburgh, was shocked by the frequency he found in the U.K. Biobank, an anonymized research database: One in 7,000 people, according to his unpublished analysis, was born to parents who were first-degree relatives—a brother and a sister or a parent and a child. “That’s way,...

Question of time that EU will force valve to make it easier to access other shops. Just like its happening on Windows and iOS

loudWaterEnjoyer ,
@loudWaterEnjoyer@lemmy.dbzer0.com avatar

I never said valve should be forced to deliver heroic. Epic will in some point in time release a Linux client.

And no it wouldn’t force Steam and Epic to come preinstalled on a Windows computer, because the Steam Deck ships steam per default. Windows ships Edge and is forced to make it easier to get other browsers. Its really not that complicated.

loudWaterEnjoyer ,
@loudWaterEnjoyer@lemmy.dbzer0.com avatar

Microsoft supports SteamDeck. They are platinum sponsor of the Linux Foundation.

loudWaterEnjoyer ,
@loudWaterEnjoyer@lemmy.dbzer0.com avatar

No they support it because of Azure Cloud and DotNet applications. But in some point in time, epic will probably deliver a Linux client and then Valve will probably be forced to make it easier to get the launcher, because they ship steam per default. It’s the same thing the EU is cracking down on with Apple and Microsoft.

loudWaterEnjoyer ,
@loudWaterEnjoyer@lemmy.dbzer0.com avatar

When Epic drops a Linux launcher, it will probably be forced to easily include those store fronts just as the EU forces those things now upon Apple and Microsoft.

It’s just as easy to install a different browser on Windows.

loudWaterEnjoyer ,
@loudWaterEnjoyer@lemmy.dbzer0.com avatar

Yes I know, just as you could just install a different browser on Windows, but because it’s shipping Edge by default, it needs to also provide easier access to the other browsers. Guys, I’m not making up those laws, I’m not fighting for them, I just share the way it works.

@loudWaterEnjoyer@lemmy.dbzer0.com avatar

Dev here.

Yeah that’s how it works.

loudWaterEnjoyer ,
@loudWaterEnjoyer@lemmy.dbzer0.com avatar

Yes, how are you doubting that? Is your company not big enough to want to pull users to a specific platform so you have to cripple the others?

loudWaterEnjoyer ,
@loudWaterEnjoyer@lemmy.dbzer0.com avatar

You just admitted the desktop version works better and that there is a 1% code difference

What the fuck is this shit? Where’s the fucking jeans???

loudWaterEnjoyer ,
@loudWaterEnjoyer@lemmy.dbzer0.com avatar

There’s no jeans in that picture, stop selling me bullshit

loudWaterEnjoyer ,
@loudWaterEnjoyer@lemmy.dbzer0.com avatar

A slight relief. Thank you kind one.

Its funny that one of the monuments of capitalism has bad WiFi because the roof had to be very fancy and imposing.

EA just added classics like Dungeon Keeper, SimCity 3000, and Populous on Steam (www.theverge.com)

There hasn’t been a lot of good news out of EA lately, but here’s some: the company just launched a bunch of classic games on Steam. The new (old) releases include nine games in total, spanning franchises like Dungeon Keeper, Populous, and SimCity....

You can get the whole ultimate collection for below 10 bucks

loudWaterEnjoyer ,
@loudWaterEnjoyer@lemmy.dbzer0.com avatar

It does not

loudWaterEnjoyer ,
@loudWaterEnjoyer@lemmy.dbzer0.com avatar

Yes it looks like each game is 10 bucks if you look at it from the store browser.

Maybe because the OS was called raspbian in the beginning?

loudWaterEnjoyer ,
@loudWaterEnjoyer@lemmy.dbzer0.com avatar

I use the 2017 edition and it works great. Has the same SoC AS a switch Lok but supports 4k

News Flash - TEEN DIES MASTURBATING 46 TIMES FROM GETTING NO P*SSY

You gotta stop at 45.

loudWaterEnjoyer ,
@loudWaterEnjoyer@lemmy.dbzer0.com avatar

I think that’s the joke

loudWaterEnjoyer ,
@loudWaterEnjoyer@lemmy.dbzer0.com avatar

Well actually I just did some calculations and came to the conclusion, that if it takes you 5 minutes to cum, but extend that by a minute with each run, you will end up at 21 hours without a break after 46 cycles.

loudWaterEnjoyer ,
@loudWaterEnjoyer@lemmy.dbzer0.com avatar

I would never last 5 min. I busted while calculating this, but I thought 5 min is a number we can all easily agree to start at.

A lot of Redditors hate the Reddit IPO | Reddit warned us that its users were a risk factor, and boy do they sound excited about shorting its stock.::Reddit seems like a likely candidate for a meme stock. But the actual reaction suggests that r/WallStreetBets isn’t going to send the stock to the moon.

Do you often hear the ringing of switching power supplies and devices when you are in a quiet space?

I’m curious, how many people are aware of these sounds. I have designed, etched, and built my own switching power supplies along with winding my own transformers. I am aware of the source of the noise. So, does anyone else hear these high frequency sounds regularly?

This is your own moral and ethical understanding of piracy, but this is a forum that centers around piracy. It makes sense to start a discussion about views and what not, but it doesn’t make sense to promote paid services over piracy in that way.

No

You can see yourself that those examples don’t align very well with streaming music right?

I’m on ProtonVPN for a couple of years now. In the beginning the Linux client was a bit of a pain, but they also let you download OpenVPN and WireGuard config files. By now the VPN client works fine, also has a permanent kill switch, the only think lacking behind on the Linux client are profiles.

Other than that their services work really good, I have no performance issues and nothing really to complain about.
