And AI is wrong, what it failed to tell you is that this game is 3D with boring attacks gameplay and questionable storytelling because soon later the main character meets a female “hostile” and befriended her. YouTuber didn’t play it to the end because again, the storytelling wasn’t great. You can’t even explore the world either, very limited space to move. So, a working game but because Russia influenced it the studio(s) have no saying anything about the end result.

I’m a human and I’m telling you to stop using AI.

Best Buy Membership "discount" (lemmy.world)

So I was shopping with my wife today and I said “oh let’s see if my membership helps out.” So we went and added the same item to each of our carts, and to our surprise, the total was the same! So what is it exactly that I’m paying for in this membership if the items “original price” is higher for me than it is for...

I recently went there to buy a basic health watch for Mother’s Day and they didn’t offer it. They only offer it at select stores, even though it’s just small watch with small box. Not a no name brand either, it’s famous for being a working health watch. They also refuse to deliver to my closest store and i had to drive 30 miles to pick it up.

The best i can describe current best buy is a warehouse store. They don’t put effort in the look or placement. PC is next to console games with games content. When I mean games content I mean everything popular in games like Minecraft, lego, etc. No clear understanding of children’s toys vs virtual games. The watch that i was looking for had only a small rectangular case. Not even fill with Apple Watches because Apple is a PC and it’s on PC section. The rectangular display is just Samsung, Gimami and some random brand I never knew. All over the $200 price mark, while the one I wanted is $60 (with current price drop).

I left knowing I shouldn’t visit them physically for anything. It’s just a warehouse now.

Too late, everyone jets had been tag and last known location will still reveal who they are. Useless bill as always.

Cloudflare is totally collecting data, why else would they want you to disable Javascript blockers or fingerprint detection.

firecat ,

No it’s not, bots are scripted to do things. Cloudflare stops JavaScript blockers, it’s not the same thing.

Another “Steam Deck is the reason” failure to cover the fact that once Steam Deck dies out it’s users also leave. Valve has awful hardware history and Steam Deck itself only runs games because they are the ones paying for Proton. It should not be controlled by a company that is known to make you lose your games.

firecat ,

Valve has subscriptions you think CSGO loot and DOTA are free or something? Let me remind you that CSGO is also dead and replaced with CS2 with zero chance of playing the original. TF2 is never ever getting a update. TF1 is dead. Valve is part of the corporate system.

firecat ,

Yes Valve has removed games, CSGO is gone, Artitic card game is gone, TF1 gone, etc. they are part of the Corporate World.

firecat ,

No it’s you who is lying, you’re making shit up about alternate game instead of the original. The original is gone, you can’t play the original. It’s like saying portal 2 is the same game as 1, no it’s not.

firecat ,

It’s basically like Anime, the tv shows do exist but no records were saved. You could try to find any source of advertising or something that connected with the tv show.

firecat ,

Not the strongest because Steam Machines with Alienware had problems and way too early during development of Proton that games couldn’t handle well. The controller was stolen IP and is still currently fighting the lawsuit. VR games are not great as people expected and rarely do new VR games arrived. Leaving the VR headset in storage for mostly the owners life. Lastly, the Steam Deck original has problems and announced updates or free ifix fixes just to not have drifting problems. Still the Steam Deck after the original has some issues with compatibility and deleting their data every update.

The company has poor track records for hardware. Valve is like the Sony of gaming, they lie about stuff and make you sign up to download the game in their closed ecosystem.

firecat ,

I use namesilo it works as expected, wired UI i know bit if you just want a working domain and can do the other things on your own, it’s for you.

firecat ,

Not all dios have feathers, just like all current lizards don’t have feathers.

firecat ,

At least try not to assume too many things from ancient palaeontologist who make things up because they didn’t have the technology at the time. The winged dinosaurs theory can’t explain many things about the dinosaurs. The very few were actual flying types and the dinosaurs who couldn’t fly aren’t realistic explained. The popular ember dino with feather wings was brought from the black market, there’s no farther research into it, the ember is locked away and only a few research was done. That’s what’s called bad research.

firecat ,

Walmart is selling through the website or their partners website. The stuff is kept in storage until the item is deemed useless.

firecat ,

My worry is Valve will look at the project and shut it down. Remember, Valve doesn’t care about your Linux, it only cares about money. Not having users on their Client side platform means less revenue and less ads to show.

firecat ,

“Third party software included and respected byproducts of Valve’s proprietary”

Legit doesn’t mean you own all the code.

firecat ,

You’re the troll if you can’t explain why no one owns all the code. You can’t even accept the lawsuits that the people of America brought against to Valve Corporation.

Dont talk like you have anything worthwhile going when you refuse to acknowledge their crimes.

firecat ,

You cannot download all the code, try it bitch i know you can’t because i also cant. Next time confirm your conspiracy theory first.

firecat ,

That’s Wine/Proton not the other thing that connects to Valves severs and other components.

firecat ,

The code isn't the operating systems that Valve owns. networking 101, something connects to make the thing work. Not the code that follows the rules. Learn about it.

firecat ,

Just tell the billion dollar company to allow people to download the games on their browser. The Client only exists as a means to DRM and analytics, there’s no actual reason for games not to become standalone.

firecat ,

As someone who was during those times, your Zgen knowledge is very incorrect. The games did work, including Crisis (original). As to why the myth you hear from fellow Zgen gamers; it’s because graphics cards were invented. Brand new, no one knew what they were doing with them. The companys Renzen and Nvidia started sponsoring games, it’s how they became popular, their logos were part of the game, Metal Gear Solid revengeance is proof of this.

Steam had no part in gaming history, they were not the first online platform. Dell made wild target before Valve Corporation was founded. Lootbox was invented before Steam launched it, Yahoo games (anyone remember them) in japan had the concept down to almost todays standards. Valve had nothing to do with gaming history, they are just known for their lawsuits and anti competitive behavior.

firecat ,

The Iphone wasn’t part of touchscreen technology either. They were just the first to try heating sensors. It’s still being used in android devices too. The ability to use physical sensors is gone. Apple killed it off.

Valve is in a lawsuit, do your research next time: https://news.bloomberglaw.com/antitrust/valve-loses-bid-to-end-antitrust-case-over-steam-gaming-platform

You fake, everyone in the older days knows how the controls work. All except you younger people, you didn’t turn it, you slide it.

What you describe was the Arcade version, not the popular console versions.

Valve is in a lawsuit: https://news.bloomberglaw.com/antitrust/valve-loses-bid-to-end-antitrust-case-over-steam-gaming-platform

Dell did make wild target: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=ibz8kpsRHdk

firecat ,

The article also is too favorable for Valve and doesn’t mention alternative methods. The billion dollar company should allow people to install games on their browsers. The client is nothing but an analytics and tracker. There’s no benefit, just like there’s no benefit in XBox or PS4/5 achievements or their features.

firecat ,

XBox does the sane thing, why do you think it costs money to play multiplayer. Steam multiplayer isn’t even used because corporations have their own servers. The Client really is useless as it’s just a copy of XBox/PS+

firecat ,

It’s the same as Steam, you sign the contract called “ User Agreement” that has a section on how you don’t own the games. It’s legal and nothing you can do about it. User Agreement also forbids you from suing Valve Corporation, so anyone who wants to own games from SteM legally cannot.

firecat ,

Don’t buy games on Steam or Valve Corporation, they make you sign the User Agreement that legally waves your rights and ownership of games.

firecat ,

Valve’s games also include DRM, Valve will still be blamed. Valve doesn’t care about their games, TF2 community comes into mind when they sent Cease and Desist. No, do not defend them for it because you also would agree with Nintendo’s stance on this issue.

Valve will never be the good guys, only remember as the bad guys.

firecat ,

AU lawsuit against Valve proves Valve didn’t want to refund their customers. Valve is guilty of this violation of Australia law. Many people who used Steam before 2010 tell people they were never given refunds oran option for refunds.

Valve is not good guys, they fought the Australia government to the very top to not pay or offer refunds. They are greedy.

firecat ,

All Valves games are DRM, you can not download the games without Steam Client. No, using the alternative method because the User Agreement doesn’t allow it. Valve never allows games to be installed without permission by them.

That’s the very definition of DRM, a company saying they don’t allow you to install games without consent.

firecat ,

Again, the very definition of DRM is Valve approval of:

  1. Your account
  2. Your money
  3. The requirements laid out in the Steam User agreement

You do not own the game, you don’t own the Steam Client, you don’t own the account and buying doesn’t offer refunds for real money. THE WHOLE THING IS VALVE CORPORATE LEGAL TERF. You can never get Steam exclusive games outside of Steam.

firecat ,

You can’t without Steam Client you idiot.

firecat ,

Again not how DRM free market works. You should not have to download another software to download the game.

Gaming wasn’t about platform, it was the ability to download games from your computer or CD. No signups or anything stupid like Steam legal contracts.

firecat ,

It won’t pass, they were all built with Swift Programming and Apple owns it. This can also be said about all Apple apps in the play store, the requirement for Swift is unavoidable.

firecat ,

Yes but you’ll get problems during uploads. It’s like Google forcing you to use Android Studio instead of verifying by other means. That’s why people often go to pay others because they don’t want to mess with the verification process.

firecat ,

At this point the steam awards is just advertising. We don’t have proof of voting bots because Valve exclusively keeps things in secret.

firecat ,

Valve loves money and it clearly shows. The steam awards just became an advertising tool, people in Valve had to write the paragraph about the game.

firecat ,

No they don’t care about the service, we should be able to play games without steam client, we should be able to resell digital games, developers should not had to pay $100 non refundable fees to upload one game each time, etc.

Steam cares about money, it’s just that simple.

firecat ,

They do lockdown things.

On EU they tried to geolock customers.

Steam Deck works on selected Linux systems, Steam Deck operating systems isn’t open source after many people demand it to be released for the public.

Alyx is still VR only game and must buy VR game, unless you mod it. Valve refused to release PC version.

Exclusivity is the number one reason they are making money. You can not buy certain games outside of Steam and Valve hasn’t released their own games outside of Steam.

Valve isn’t the good guys and they are criminals with multiple history of lawsuits and abuse to their employees. You shouldn’t keep supporting them.

firecat ,

Any body who tries to install any other operating system knows it’s going to cause problems. We aren’t talking about the popular Linux like Ubuntu, Mint or Debian. The really small Linux community like pop, Qubes, CentOS. They don’t work because Steam Deck doesn’t support them. It’s why Steam Deck should be open source to allow people fix the problems Valve refuses to solve.

firecat ,

It’s not perfect fine, there’s always a problem like the virtual keyboard from Microsoft (not steam) has problems with the Deck. Linux side also doesn’t have perfect results with reports like starting a new clean state or running without additional background application. The Linux side doesn’t have less problems it has more.

You just did describe the limitations of Steam Deck, all 64x can’t support 32 bit programs and using something like CD to play 32 bit games will cause problems that otherwise isn’t a thing in Windows. Proton doesn’t support CD games which means you aren’t going to play games with CD requirements. Think about this next time instead of using your big mouth.

Someone has made a mod to play the game without VR, it’s Valve who refuses to accept the opportunity for better PC gaming for everyone.

Unfortunately after the EU lawsuit filed. We did learn about backdoor dealings and Valve with other companies do exclusively deals. You are only sourcing your statements from other people who said the exact words. You just messaged a propaganda outlet that is false since EU lawsuit. The court records state the publishers were in agreement to exclusive support for Valve Corporation. It’s unclear if Insomnia studios has a copy of Valve Corporation’s official contract agreement for exclusive content but we may learn more soon.

The proof of criminal activity is in the news. A simple google search will find the answers.

Valve stealing controllers patent from famous keyboard maker Corsair.

Valve guilty of not following AU law for customer refunds.

Valve guilty for EU geolock laws.

Valve guilty for violating the USA monopoly and will be investigated by the federal government.

Valve guilty for breaking French resell of digital games and must offer resell for digital games.

The list goes on and on. They are criminals and supporting criminals makes you a criminal.

firecat ,

All you talk about is defending the criminal after they were convicted of the crime. You are acting like those stupid trump supporters who don’t care about the criminal act. You don’t even dare to research the truth either, the controller lawsuit was under jury, AKA the people AMERICAN people voted Valve committed the crime of stealing patent.

The Europe Commission trial documents are open for the public to read.

During the AU lawsuit Valve was fined for trying to hide the truth about refunds. Valve lawyers fought to the highest court to not pay the millions.

Valve is not good in any case and will never consider you a loyal customer. You are a money bag to them.

Lastly, there’s hundreds of reports of Steam Deck or Proton unable to work. A simple github search from serious tickets to low problems are available for the public to read.

firecat ,

Oh come on the same news paper saying the lawyers are fixing the issue of evidence that should finalize the verdict. MAYBE READ.

You are just creating double standards as the truth of EU lawsuit is easy found but you don’t care. You looked into easy reporting of Valve case that defies them in better light. You didn’t cate about the fact or evidence. You only want yourself to believe Valve is the good guy.

This is a common misconception in trump supporters that only viewing small companies that benefit from good content.
